MUBI, the global film distributor, streaming service and production company, announces the streaming release date of April, the latest feature from acclaimed Georgian filmmaker Dea Kulumbegashvili (Beginning), arriving exclusively on MUBI in Australia from 29 August 2025.
Starring Ia Sukhitashvili, Nino Javakhishvili, Temiko Chichinadze and Giorgi Bochorishvili, April features cinematography by Arseni Khachaturan (Bones and All, The Idol, Beginning) and a score by Matthew Herbert (The Wonder).
April had its World Premiere at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, where it was awarded the Special Jury Prize, and its Australian premiere at Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) on 19 August 2025. It holds a current nomination for this year’s Bright Horizons film Prize as part of the MIFF program, awarded to filmmakers on the rise on an international scale.
The title joins the growing database of films under the MUBI streaming banner.
