The Adelaide Guitar Festival has announced its 2025 program. Spanning 10 September – 12 October at the Adelaide Festival Centre, this year’s edition is a packed one, with three world premiere events and international and local guitar legends playing a sweeping range of music – from classical and Latin to pop and rock. Blak Country
10 October, 7:30pm at Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre, Mount Gambier
Curated by Barkindji Songwoman Nancy Bates, this year’s compelling lineup includes Boandik Elder Yawuri Penny Bonney, musical powerhouse Jess Hitchock, Mitchell Makoons of Manitoba’s Metis community, Kyarna Rose of the Yuin Nation and Western Arrente songwriter Rob Edwards, backed by full band and imagery of the land which breathes life into the songs.
Australian Guitar Quartet
11 October, 7:30pm at Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre, Mount Gambier
Bringing together four of Australia’s most acclaimed guitarists, each renowned for their virtuosic technique and genre-defying performance – Slava and Leonard Grigoryan, Andrew Blanch, and Vladimir Gorbach – this ensemble blends the precision of classical guitar with the flair of contemporary music from across the globe.
