WIN A DOUBLE PASS to 'Love’s Labour’s Lost'

See the polar attractions of work and play battle it out in William Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost, performing at the ANU Arts Centre from August 26 to 28.

Love’s Labour’s Lost is one of the Bard’s least performed but most beautifully lyrical plays: an extravaganza of wordplay and wit, lit by a summertime glow of lush language and romantic tomfoolery.

The premise is simple: four idealistic young men make a vow to give up good living for three years to make books and learning their sole occupation. But no sooner have these students made their pledge against love that love arrives in the form of four very attractive, very intelligent, and very saucy women.

This rich, effusive romantic comedy has at its heart a dilemma central to youth and to life- how should you spend it? On the one side there is study, work, duty, knowledge, maturity. On the other side are life’s sweeteners: pleasure, play, desire, youth, and love.

With a palette inspired by the play’s motifs of growth, maturity, and light, Director Naomi Milthorpe (Moonlight’s The House of Bernarda Alba), working within the framework of university theatre, has assembled a fresh-faced cast to bring youthful life to this unconventional comedy.

In Love’s Labour’s Lost, the culture of learning knocks heads with the wildness of love, rocketing along with the fizz and bubble of some of Shakespeare’s most energetic wordplay.

Tickets at the door.

We've got 3 double passes to giveaway to the show on Friday 26 August. To be in with a chance to WIN simply answer the following question:
