Win BPA free baby products from MAM

What is BPA and why is it present in many products?
Bisphenol A (BPA) is a material used in the manufacture of polycarbonate (PC) plastic. Food packaging, water bottles, disposable utensils and some babycare items are among everyday products made from polycarbonate plastic. Keep in mind BPA is not added to these plastics but is an organic compound that’s part of their chemical makeup.

Why did MAM choose to go BPA free and was this a difficult business decision?
We decided years ago to continuously switch production to only BPA-free materials for all the products a child uses around the mouth. That means not just bottles, but our soothers, teethers and oral care products are BPA-free too.

In 2004 MAM developed a new baby bottle range. This was our first range of BPA-free products. Since then we have phased out polycarbonate and used alternative materials such as polypropylene (PP), silicone and latex. Naturally we had to change our production methods but it was worth it to facilitate the choice of going BPA-free for parents.

What are the benefits of using BPA-free bottles, as opposed to those that contain BPA?
Bisphenol A is an endocrine disruptor, which can mimic the body's own hormones and may lead to negative health effects including breast and prostate cancer, early puberty and changes in brain structure. When BPA gets into the human body it remains there. While research about the health consequences of BPA intake is ongoing, it does seem best to avoid exposing babies and small children to BPA.

For your chance to win an amazing prize pack of MAM BPA free products  simply upload a picture of your deserving little person (or your growing tummy!) below and tell us why you think it's best to go BPA free!

The winner will be chosen in a random draw on August 23.

The prize pack is valued at almost $50 and includes:

    * Anti-Colic Bottle, 160ml
    * Drink Easy Baby Bottle, 330ml
    * First Brush
    * Animal soother two-pack

Thank you MAM!
