Surely one of the most lovable people on TV was good old Jim Nabors and his country boy style was surely never better exemplified than in the very cute Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. Season four of the show is released this month on DVD and to celebrate we have five copies for you to get your hands on!
Gomer is from the small North Carolina town of Mayberry (having first appeared to great acclaim in the Andy Griffith Show) who joins the Marine Corps and finds himself under the watchful eye of Sgt Carter (a terrific over the top performance from Frank Sutton). One of the most popular shows on TV when it originally aired Gomer Pyle shows no signs of flagging in this fourth season, if anything it shows the cast and writers at the very top of their game.
The five disc set features all thirty episodes from season four and definitely not to be missed is the four part story that sees Gomer heading off to Washington for a meeting with the president!
