As well as having more canals than Venice, Great Britain is also made up of nearly a thousand different islands, something actor Martin Clunes explores to great effect in this entertaining documentary series. To celebrate the arrival on DVD this month of Islands of Britain we have five copies to give away!
Clunes makes for a great companion as he travels around Britain exploring not only those islands that we all know like the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands but lots of the obscure ones too, some barely big enough to swing a cat on. Naturally enough he also finds time to talk to lots of the people who live on them, everyone from the self suffienct to the super rich seeking peace and quiet, along the way he learns much about the history of Britain and it's rich folklore tales of smugglers, saints and pirates.
A great travelogue type series then that reveals much about those sceptred isles.
