Win a Potential of Hydrogen bike

Thanks to urban cycle temple Sable & Argent, Time Out has a Potential of Hydrogen (pH) bike (valued at $674) to give away.

To win simply tell us in 25 words or less 'Why cycling in Sydney makes you happy'in the form below.

The winner of this competition has to be a current subscriber to Time Out Sydney's weekly newsletter.

This competition closes on Monday 30 August, 2010. Winners will be notified by phone, email or letter.

To see a Potential of Hydrogen bike taken to its design limit check out the model re-duxed by street and tattoo artist Mike Giant on display at Fixed Up @ The Galeries Victoria until August 12. Or join the Goldsprints competition where fixies go head-to-head in races from 6–9pm every Thursday to win a bike hand-built by cycle legend Peter Bundy.

More about the Potential of Hydrogen (pH) bike

1.    A (“fixie”) has a fixed cog so the pedals always turn when the wheel does (and vice versa). They’re supremely lightweight, simple to use (all ‘non-essential parts are stripped away) and low-maintenance (no complicated components).

2.    Fixies are often self-built. But the bike-owner bond goes beyond that, says Sable & Argent’s Boris Tosic. “With fixies you feel every nuance of speed, balance, acceleration and deceleration, giving you and the bike that mystical connection.”

3.    The new Potential of Hydrogen (“pH”) fixie pitches itself as the perfect synergy between cycle and cyclist. Acidity and alkalinity are expressed in pH values so pH bikes embody human energy (“Potential”) and natural ideas (“Hydrogen”) and come in 14 colours from Battery Acid red (pH 0) to Caustic Soda purple (pH14).
