The timeless story of Cinderella has been completely re-written by children’s author Helen Martin.
This new contemporary adaptation moves between a dusty outback farm - where Cinderella cooks and cleans for her stepmother and two Ugly Stepsisters - and Buckingham Palace, where Prince Richard seeks the woman of his dreams - someone he can have a good conversation with.
Cinderella’s sisters win a trip to the Palace to take part in the Prince’s ball, but of course Cinderella must stay at home with her only friend Jesse the Kelpie to look after the farm. The Ugly Sisters however hadn’t planned on a Fairy Godmother – and with a little bit of magic involving mice, pumpkins, members of the audience and a lost shoe, both Cinderella and the Prince find their heart’s desires.
In true Marian Street style the production offers special moments for the children to participate and after the show they can meet the cast and have a look at the set and costumes.
