Terms & Conditions
1.    The promoter is News Limited (ABN 47 007 871 178) of 2 Holt Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010.
2.    Entry is open to all residents within New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia. Employees and their immediate families of the promoters, directors, managements, related companies, retailers, suppliers and their agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible.
3.    To enter, readers of The Daily Telegraph (NSW), The Courier Mail (QLD) and The Advertiser (SA) must email tastepromotions@newsltd.com.au with their name, address and contact phone number and tell us in 25 words or less why your dad is the best. Emails must include your name, address and contact phone number.
4.    Readers must specify their state in the subject line of the email.
5.    The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry, which is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The Promoter does not accept any responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries for this promotion. Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt by the Service Provider and not at the time of transmission by the entrant.
6.    Multiple entries will be accepted provided that each entry is submitted separately in accordance with the entry instructions.
7.    The competition opens at 00:01 (AEST) on Tuesday 31 August, 2010 and closes at 23:59 (AEST) on Tuesday 7 September, 2010.
8.    All draws will take place at News Digital Media, Level 25, 175 Liverpool Street, Sydney NSW 2000.
9.    There will be 5 major prize winners in each state (NSW, QLD and SA). Each prize winner will receive a 12 month magazine subscription to either: Alpha, MasterChef, Gardening Australia, GQ or Modern Fishing.
9.1    Each person who enters the competition must specify which magazine subscription they would like to win (Alpha, MasterChef, Gardening Australia, GQ or Modern Fishing).
9.2    Winners can choose from: Alpha 12-month magazine subscription valued at $34.50; GQ 12-month magazine subscription valued at $53.70; MasterChef 12-month magazine subscription valued at $54.45; Gardening Australia 12-month magazine subscription valued at $71.40; Modern Fishing 12-month magazine subscription valued at $95.40.
9.3    Total maximum price pool is valued at $1,431
10.    The judges will select the best entries that have the most creative and original response to be the winner of the major prize package.
11.    Entrants under 18 years must have their parent or guardian’s permission to enter.
12.    Should an entrant’s contact details change during the promotional period, it is the entrant’s responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify any information provided in an entry should be directed to Promoter.
13.    Prize winners will be notified within seven (7) days of the draw and published online at www.taste.com.au on Tuesday 14 September, 2010.
14.    NO LIABILITY
  a)    The Promoters shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. Neither is the Promoters responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the entrant or any of the equipment or programming associated with, or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error, or combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition, including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries.
  b)    If for any reason, this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Promoters which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoters reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition subject to any written directions given under State Legislation.
  c)    Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoters (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury, loss or damage (including loss or opportunity) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion, including but not limited to, where arising out of the following:
    I.    any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoters control);
    II.    any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
    III.    any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after receipt by the Promoters) due to any reason beyond the    reasonable control of the Promoters;
    IV.    any variation in prize value to that stated in these conditions of entry;
    V.    any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant;
    VI.    the broadcast of any program relating to the competition or the publication of any material, including statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person; and/or
    VII.    participation in the prize
  d)    Once prizes have left the Promoters premises, the Promoters and their associated agencies take no responsibility for prizes damaged, delayed or lost in transit.
  e)    The Promoters reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who the Promoters has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoters legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
  f)    In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders it's determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoters may in its absolute discretion cancel the event and recommence it from the start on the same conditions subject to state legislation.

15.    PRIVACY CONSENT
  a)    Nationwide News, as the Promoters of this competition, collects your personal information to assist us in providing the goods or services you have requested, to process your competition entries and to improve our products and services. We or any of our Australian related companies may be in touch by any means (including email or SMS) at any time to let you know about goods, services or promotions which may be of interest to you. We may also share your information with other persons or entities who assist us in providing our services, running competitions (including administering the competition or distributing prizes) or with other companies who provide prizes for competitions or reader offers. We may also disclose your personal information in accordance with these terms and conditions if you are a prize winner or finalist.
  b)    This company is part of a global media and entertainment company. We would like to share your information with these overseas-related companies so that they can contact you with special offers.
