Terms and Conditions
By entering the Disney âThe Sorcererâs Apprenticeâ Competition, you are agreeing to the following terms and
conditions:
1. STANDARD TERMS
1.1 Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry.
2. WHO CAN ENTER?
2.1 Subject to clause 2.2, entry is open to all residents of Australia, 18 years of age or older, where the
Channel Seven signal is received.
2.2 Employees and their immediate families of Seven Network (Operations) Limited, Walt Disney
Company Australia, MNET Group Limited, and their associated agencies and companies are not
eligible to enter.
3. HOW TO ENTER
3.1 The Competition commences on Sunday 29th August, 2010 at 0001 (AEST) and concludes on
Saturday 18th September, 2010 at 2359 (AEST) (âthe Competition Periodâ).
3.2 In order to enter, viewers must watch the Seven Network during the Competition Period. A
Competition spot will be aired during the Competition Period inviting viewers to enter. To enter,
viewers must either:
a) Send a text message/SMS to 19 778 777 with their full name and state
OR
b) Visit the website
www.yahoo7.com.au/sorcerers and register their full name, email address,
street address (including postcode) and daytime telephone number (including STD area code).
3.3 All entrants (including winners) in the Competition may enter as many times as they like.
3.4 For SMS entrants, each entry must be charged to a mobile account and SMS entries via the internet,
computer generation or âscriptingâ are invalid and will not be accepted.
3.5 Entries must be received by Saturday 18th September, 2010 at 2359 (AEST). The time of entry will
in each case be the time the SMS message or 1902 telephone call is received by the MNET Group
Limited database.
3.6 Each SMS entry will be charged at premium rate, namely $0.55 (including GST), which is inclusive of
the entry and the reply message.
3.7 SMS entrants will receive a reply message to their entry.

4. PRIZES
4.1 There will be one (1) major prize winner and twenty (20) minor prize winners. The prize winners will
receive the prize package, as set out in clause 4.2 below.

Total prize value is a total maximum value of AU$24,406.00 (including GST). The Promoter accepts
no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate date on which the prize is
delivered.
4.3 In participating in the prizes, the winner (and their companion) agrees to participate and co-operate
as required in all editorial activities relating to the Competition, including but not limited to being
interviewed and photographed. The winner (and their companion) agrees to grant the Promoter a
perpetual and exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the
winners will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
4.4 The winner (and their companion) agrees that they will not sell or otherwise provide their story and/or
photographs to any media or other organisation.
4.5 Any additional charges not outlined in these terms and conditions will be the responsibility of the
winner.
4.6 The major prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, and may not be redeemed for cash
4.7 Travel associated with the major prize must take place within one (1) year of the winner being
notified of the prize.
4.8 At least one (1) traveller (the major prize winner or their companion) must be over 18 years of age.
4.9 The winner of the major prize and their companion must have a valid passport and visa as required.
This must be arranged by the major prize winner and/or their companion.
4.10 The winner of the major prize must advise travel dates to the Sponsor within three (3) months of
notification of win. The Sponsors contact details will be supplied to the winner when notified of win
via phone, email and/or mail.
4.11 Requested times and dates of travel are subject to availability.
4.12 No stopovers are permitted on travel associated with the major prize and flights and accommodation
are subject to availability. Blackout periods apply for the flight and hotel components of the major
prize including; the last week in November, first two weeks of December and New Yearâs Eve
weekend.
4.13 The major prize is valid until Tuesday 20th September, 2011.
4.14 Changes to the major prize winnerâs flight details once booked will incur a change fee per guest and
the payment of this is will be the responsibility of the winner.
4.15 The major prize winner and their companion must travel together on the same flights and stay in
their allocated accommodation.
4.16 The major prize winner (and their companion) may not use Frequent Flyer points from any airline on
the travel prize and cannot upgrade any travel prize using Frequent Flyer points.
4.17 The major prize is a single event holiday and must be taken together.
4.18 The hotel accommodation prize element in the major prize is for two persons, for four nights.
4.19 If tickets to âMary Poppinsâ on Broadway in New York are not available during the major prize
winnerâs travel, tickets to a âfamily friendly showâ (nominated by the Promoter) of same value will be
substituted.

4.20 The Admit 4 Pass element of the minor prize is not valid for Gold Class; Special Event sessions, 3D
or Vmax at Village Cinemas. Not valid for Gold Class, Vmax and 3D at Event Cinemas. Not valid
for Gold Class, Vmax and 3D at Greater Union and Birch Carroll & Coyle. Not valid for La Premiere,
Directors Suite, Bean Bag Cinema, 3D, Xtremescreen or IMAX at Hoyts Cinemas. Not valid for
Reading Gold Lounge and 3D and Hayden Orpheum Cinemas, Ace Cinemas session. Not valid for
3D at Australian Multiplex Cinemas.
4.21 The Admit 4 pass element of the minor prize is not valid public holidays, all day Tuesday, discount
days or Saturday after 5pm. It is not valid with any other offer. It is not transferable, exchangeable
or redeemable for cash. It is valid throughout the theatrical season. âNo free ticketâ restrictions
apply.
4.22 All other expenses such as car hire, spending money, meals, travel insurance, transfers, government
levies, meals, passports, visas, vaccinations, transport to and from the winners departure point,
items of a personal nature and in-room charges not stipulated will be the responsibility of the prize
winner.
4.23 The Promoter and Sponsor make no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that
may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources,
including government, local consular offices and the website of the Australian Department of Foreign
Affairs and Trade
4.24 All accommodation and land components of the prize are subject to Seven Network (Operations)
Limited and other suppliers booking conditions and availability.
4.25 The Promoters accept no responsibility for any variation in the prize value. Where a prize is
unavailable for any reason, the Promoters may substitute for that prize another item of equal or
higher value as determined by the Promoters, subject to the approval of the gaming authorities in
each state and territory, where required.
4.26 Subject to state government legislation the Promoter reserves the right to reasonably amend or vary
these terms and conditions at its sole discretion, orally or in writing, for the purpose of Sevenâs
programming, scheduling or production requirements. The Promoter may at its discretion provide
notice of any changes in the Competition spots aired during the Competition.
4.27 Winners should seek independent financial advice about any tax implications that may arise from
their prize winnings.

5. HOW TO WIN
5.1 There will be one (1) major prize winner and 20 (twenty) minor prize winners drawn from the national
pool of entrants. Each entrant who has entered the Competition within the Competition Period using
a mobile phone with a reply path and whose SMS message has passed through the Telco carriers
network to MNET Group Limited database or phoned the 1902 number registered all details required
by Saturday 18th September, 2010 at 2359 (AEST) (âQualifying Entrantâ) will be entered into the
draw. Entries that do not contain the information required by clause 3.3 or that do not otherwise
comply with these terms and conditions may be deemed to be invalid and, in that event, a further
draw will be conducted. The draw will take place at MNET Group Limited, Level 2, 8 Leigh Street,

Adelaide, South Australia, 5000 on Monday 20th September, 2010 at 1000 (AEST). Twenty one (21)
Qualifying Entrants will be drawn at random from the national pool to become the winners.
5.2 Winners will be notified by a phone call, and a letter advising the winners of their prize will also be
express posted. The winnersâ details will be published in the Public Notes section of The Australian
newspaper on Monday 4th October, 2010.
5.3 The Promoter may in its absolute discretion deem entries invalid subsequently to the winnerâs name
being announced if it is discovered that the winners did not enter the Competition in accordance with
these terms and conditions, or does not otherwise comply with these terms and conditions. In these
circumstances, an additional draw will be conducted as per clause 5.1.
5.4 The Promoterâs decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the
result.
5.5 It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winners must comply with all the conditions of use of
the prize and prize supplierâs requirements.
5.6 Subject to state government legislation an unclaimed prize draw will take place at MNET Group
Limited, Level 2, 8 Leigh Street, Adelaide, South Australia 5000 on Monday 10th January, 2011 at
1000 (AEDT) and winners will be notified by mail and the winner/s names published in the Public
Notes section of The Australian newspaper on Monday 24th January, 2011.
6. NO LIABILITY
6.1 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly
hinders the Promoterâs ability to proceed with the Competition on the dates and in the manner
described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures,
tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may
in its absolute discretion cancel the Competition and recommence it from the start on the same
conditions, subject to government legislation.
6.3 Seven Network (Operations) Limited & affiliates, MNET Group Limited, Walt Disney Company
Australia and their associated agencies and companies will take no responsibility for prizes damaged
or lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.
6.4 Seven Network (Operations) Limited & affiliates, MNET Group Limited, Walt Disney Company
Australia and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure,
accident, injury, loss (including but not limited to consequential loss) or claim that may occur:
a) during the draw;
b) whilst undertaking any travel won on or connected with their entry into the draw;
c) in the participation in any prize;
d) as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;
e) due to the broadcast of any program relating to the Competition or the publication of any
material, including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other
entrants or any other person;
f) in relation to failure of an SMS entry message to be received by the Promoter on account of
technical problems or traffic congestion; or
g) arising from or related to any problem or technical malfunction of any telephone network or
lines or mobile communications network related to or resulting from participation in this
Competition.

6.5 Seven Network (Operations) Limited assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption,
deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction
or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may
be available, subject to government legislation.
6.6 If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned, due to causes including but
not limited to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes
beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness,
integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion
to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be
available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition subject to government
legislation.

7.3 Entry details and entries remain the property of the Promoters and will not be returned to the
entrants. MNET Group Limited, on behalf of Seven Network Limited (ABN 65 052 845 262) and its
related entities (âSevenâ), is collecting the entrant's personal information for the purpose of
conducting and promoting this Competition (including but not limited to determining and notifying
winners). The entrant may request access to his or her personal information by writing to Privacy
