Be part of Australian Open 2011 and have your film viewed by more than 600,000 fans at Melbourne Park during the Grand Slam of Asia-Pacific.


Entry is free. Send your entries to 'Tennis Film Festival at Tennis Australia, Postal Bag 6060, Richmond 3121, Melbourne, Australia'.

You can shoot on any format you like — HD, DVD, 35mm, 16mm, Mini DV, mobile phone. You must supply two DVD copies of your film in separate cases with the name of the film and its creator clearly marked. Include the entry form and copyright approval documentation should you require it.

Your DVD should be in PAL TV format and the regional code should be set to ALL REGIONS. Make sure that your DVD works in your DVD player before you submit them.


The overall Best Film prize of $5000 will be judged by a committee of four including an Australian Open tennis player and tournament director Craig Tiley.

The criteria for judging is:
1.How well the film-maker combined the theme Take Two with the subject of tennis
2.Technical merit
3.Likeability — emotional impact


Make a short tennis film no longer than 90 seconds duration with the theme 'TAKE TWO'.
Entries are now open and will close on Friday, 14 January 2011. The best entries will be shown on giant screens at Australian Open 2011.

The Best Short Film will be judged by a panel of four and win AUD$5000.
A Peoples' Choice Award of $2500 will be voted by the cast and crew of Australian Open 2011 including players, tournament staff and fans coming to watch the tennis.


Changing Ends Competition Terms and Conditions
Information on eligibility and how to enter this competition (the “Competition”) forms
part of these Terms and Conditions. Entry into this competition shall be deemed to be an
acknowledgement of acceptance of these terms and conditions.
1: THE PROMOTER
Tennis Australia Ltd, (ABN 61 006 281 125) trading as Tennis Australia, Melbourne Park,
Batman Avenue, Melbourne, Victoria, 3000 (Tennis Australia).
2: THE COMPETITION
Tennis Australia as the competition organiser and promoter is inviting aspiring
filmmakers to submit a video of up to 90 seconds duration with a tennis theme, to be
presented as part of Australian Open 2011 on a dedicated website –
www.changingends.com.au – and around the grounds at Melbourne Park during
Australian Open 2011.
By submitting your video to Tennis Australia, you agree to your work being uploaded
onto www.changingends.com.au and will provide a high resolution format for screening
on giant screens at Melbourne Park. You agree that the terms of the entry form and these
terms and conditions (Conditions of Entry) create a legally binding agreement between
you and Tennis Australia, including the requirement that:
1. Films must contain a reference to tennis and explore the theme TAKE TWO.
2. Films must be no longer than 90 seconds.
3. Entrants must obtain permission to use any music or people in films.
4. Films will be sent to Tennis Australia by post.
5. All entrants are required to supply films in a high resolution format for screening
on giant screens at Garden Square, Federation Square and Grand Slam Oval from
the start of the Australian Open 17 January until the closing day of the event, 30
January 2011.
3: KEY DATES
Films may be submitted from 1 September 2010 at 9am Australian eastern standard time
until 14 January 2011 at 5pm Australian eastern standard time (Competition Period).
Entries will be featured on www.changingends.com.au at Tennis Australia’s discretion,
www.australian open.com and the Tennis Australia YouTube Channel. Entries will be
shortlisted and judged during the Competition Period with the winner announced during
the second week of the Australian Open.
The judging panel will consist of an Australian film industry specialist, a Tennis Australia
representative, an actor and a 2011 Australian Open Player.
Winners and runners up will be contacted by phone and letter. They will be publicly
announced on the Australian Open website (www.australianopen.com) and the
competition website (www.changingends.com.au) on Saturday 19 January 2011, and
published in the Herald Sun newspaper by Monday 31 January 2011.
4: WHO MAY ENTER
You do not need any filmmaking experience to enter the Competition.
If you want to enter the Competition, you must be at least 15 years of age and an
Australian citizen or resident. If you are under 18 years old, you must have your parents or
legal guardian’s permission to enter. Your parents or guardian must also agree to ensure
that you comply with the Competition Conditions of Entry. For the purposes of this clause,
your age is as at 1 September 2010.
The competition is not open to:
(a) employees of, or contractors to, the Promoter, or any of its agencies involved with
this competition; or
(b) immediate family members of such employees and contractors.
5: HOW FILMS ARE JUDGED
Submitted films will be judged on the following criteria:
• How well the filmmaker combined the theme Take Two with the subject of tennis.
• Technical Merit.
• Emotional impact.
The judges’ decision is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into. You
agree that a copy of your entry, and copies of your film and any additional materials you
may supply to Tennis Australia become the property of Tennis Australia.
6: THE PRIZE
(a) The winner of the Best Film in the Changing Ends Tennis Film Festival will receive an
AUD$5000 cash prize. This prize will be awarded by the judges of the competition.
(b) The winner of the People’s Choice award will receive an AUD$2500 cash prize. This
award will be determined by tournament staff and fans voting by ballot onsite at
Australian Open 2011.
(c) Four shortlisted films will each receive a Panasonic video camera valued at AUD$500
each.
The Promoter’s decision on all matters pertaining to this Competition will be final. No
correspondence will be entered into.
7: HOW ELIGIBLE FILMS ARE USED
If you enter an eligible film into the Competition before the closing date (14 January 2011
at 5pm Australian eastern standard time), it may be uploaded to the dedicated website
www.changingends.com.au and be available for viewing there by the general public and
on the Australian Open You Tube Channel.
Tennis Australia may also screen films on giant screens at Melbourne Park during the
Australian Open and at live sites in Melbourne at Federation Square.
Tennis Australia may also publish films on its websites www.tennis.com.au and
www.australianopen.com.
Tennis Australia may also use the films for any other purpose that it considers
appropriate.
8: GUARANTEES
You (and any additional producers, each and together) represent, warrant and agree that:
• you are eligible to enter the Competition;
• you are an Australian citizen or resident;
• you made your film specifically for the Competition, and your film otherwise
complies with the Conditions of Entry;
• you own the copyright in your film, which is your original work;
• you own all copyright material included in your film or that this material has been
used with appropriate permission, and that your film does not otherwise infringe or
violate the intellectual property or other rights or interests of any third party,
including in relation to any music, lyrics and sound recordings included in the film;
• your film does not include any nudity or profanities, and does not otherwise
defame, misrepresent, contain disparaging remarks or other content that could
adversely affect the name, reputation or goodwill of Tennis Australia or the
Australian Open;
• your film does not contain pornographic or sexually explicit or hateful content that
promotes violence or harm, or any other offensive, obscene or inappropriate
content (Tennis Australia determines what is inappropriate);
• your film does not include threats and does not intimidate, harass or bully anyone;
• all performers in your film have given their written consent to the use of their
performances in the film;
• you have obtained written consents from all contributors of copyright material to
your film to their material being edited, altered and reproduced by you and anyone
you permit to do this (including Tennis Australia), to the extent permitted by
applicable law;
• your film does not contravene any other law; and
• your film is not, and will not be, the subject of any third party agreement or
arrangement that would prevent its use according to the Conditions of Entry or
require Tennis Australia or anyone else to pay any third party for this use.
You unconditionally indemnify Tennis Australia and must pay Tennis Australia on
demand the amount of, all losses, liabilities, expenses and taxes that Tennis Australia may
suffer (including the cost of settlement and any legal expenses on a full indemnity basis)
because any of your representations or warranties are incorrect, you breach the
Conditions of Entry, or because of a claim or proceeding by another person against Tennis
Australia is caused or contributed by you.
9: TENNIS AUSTRALIA’S FILM RIGHTS
You remain the owner of the copyright in your film.
You agree that a copy of your film may be kept by Tennis Australia in perpetuity.
You grant to Tennis Australia a perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable, worldwide,
transferable, non-exclusive licence (with the right to sub-licence) to copy, reproduce,
screen in public, communicate to the public, and otherwise exploit your film in all media,
whether known now or developed in the future, for the purpose of the Competition, or to
advertise and promote Tennis Australia and its products and services, or both, and to
showcase your film.
Without limiting this, you agree that Tennis Australia may do all or any of these things:
• make your film available online;
• copy all or parts of your film;
• include your film in a compilation;
• use your film for advertising and promoting the Competition, the Australian Open,
or Tennis Australia or both;
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you unconditionally and irrevocably:
(a) consent, and will obtain all other necessary unconditional and irrevocable written
consents, to additions to, deletions from and other alterations or modifications of,
your film that would otherwise infringe any moral rights in the film, or copyright
material included in the film, whether before or after a consent is given; and
(b) waive, and will obtain all other necessary unconditional and irrevocable written
waivers of all moral rights in your film, and all copyright material included in your
film, for the benefit of Tennis Australia, and any person claiming an interest in your
film through Tennis Australia.
10: RIGHT TO USE NAMES AND LIKENESSES
If you submit an entry, you grant Tennis Australia the right to use (and to license others to
use) your film to promote and advertise all or any of the Competition, or Tennis Australia.
You represent and warrant that you have also obtained permission from each contributor
to your film that allows Tennis Australia to use their name and likeness to promote and
advertise all or any of the Competition, your film or Tennis Australia.
Finalists and winners will make themselves available for publicity appearances whenever
Tennis Australia reasonably requests, and agree that Tennis Australia may use all or any
part of any statement made by them about the Competition, their film and Tennis
Australia for advertising or promoting any or all of the Competition, their film and Tennis
Australia.
However, Tennis Australia agrees not to use your name or likeness or the name or likeness
of any contributor to your film in connection with any commercial tie-ups, merchandising
or for the direct or indirect endorsement of any product or services except for the
commercial and/or other sponsorship of the Competition or Tennis Australia.
11: YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Personal information collected from you will be used by Tennis Australia according to
Tennis Australia’s Privacy Policy so you can enter and we can administer the Competition.
Without your personal information we cannot accept your entry. Subject to some
exceptions allowed by law, you may request access to your personal information while we
store it. We will assess your request in accordance with the law and tell you why if access is
denied.
You expressly agree to the use of your information for this purpose.

12: EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Tennis Australia, its contractors, employees
and agents, is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry of information, human
error, technical malfunction, lost or delayed data transmission, omission, interruption,
deletion, defect, failure of any computer or network, inability to access websites
associated with the Competition, for problems uploading entries or downloading
Competition information or late, lost, damaged, misdirected, incorrect or incomplete
entries or for any injury or damage to your or any other person’s computer related to or
resulting from participation in or down-loading any material in this Competition.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Tennis Australia, its contractors, employees
and agents, excludes all liability relating to the Competition, whether arising in contract,
tort (including negligence) or under statute and whether they have been advised or are
aware of the possibility of that liability. Without limiting this, Tennis Australia excludes
liability for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of
data, and loss of business opportunity.
Tax implications may arise from the receipt of a prize. You should seek independent
financial advice.
13: DISQUALIFICATION AND CANCELLATION
Your entry may not be accepted or may be disqualified at any time (in Tennis Australia’s
sole discretion) if:
• it is received after 5pm Australian eastern standard time on the last day of the
Competition Period (even if it was transmitted before then);
• you have not properly completed the entry form;
• you have not agreed to the Conditions of Entry; or
• your entry does not comply with the Conditions of Entry.
If there is an event beyond Tennis Australia’s reasonable control which prevents or
hinders the conduct of the Competition Tennis Australia’s ability to announce winners,
then Tennis Australia may in its sole discretion cancel, change or suspend the
Competition, or any aspect of it.
If so, Tennis Australia reserves the right to deal with entries received up to the date of the
cancellation, change or suspension according to the Conditions of Entry. Further, Tennis
Australia may at its sole discretion recommence the Competition under the same
conditions.
14: GIVING EFFECT TO THE CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
You must do anything (including sign any document) to give full effect to the Conditions
of Entry.
15: GOVERNING LAW
The Competition is governed by the laws in force in Victoria, Australia. You submit to the
non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts exercising jurisdiction in this State, and any courts
that may hear appeals from those courts.
