The spectacular calibre of the China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra’s talent is complemented by the spectacular setting of the Sydney Opera House,” said the presenter Dr Robert Feng.
“The talented China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra is led by celebrated conductor, Pang Kapang, who took over artistic direction of the Orchestra in 1998. Under his leadership the Chinese Folk Orchestra Concert promises to be an impressive evening of colourful entertainment,” continued Dr Feng.
With the efforts and endeavour of famous conductor and composer, Peng Xiuwen, the Orchestra developed its framework based on the bow and string instrument, plucked instrument, wind instrument and percussion instrument. Today, Peng Xiuwen’s four-part framework is widely employed by musicians within and outside of China. His music has made a great contribution for national music symphonization.
During the past fifty years, the Orchestra has performed and recorded for movies, TV series, broadcasting and albums, many of which are celebrated among Chinese music circles. The Orchestra has collaborated with distinguished artists and conductors such as Peng Xiuwen, Liu Mingyuan, Hu Haiquan, Zhang Lie, Jiang Kemei, and Zhang Shao among others.
