The 100 Best Australian Albums is the product of many late nights, arguments, headaches and thousands of emails. One fateful day, John O’Donnell, Toby Creswell and Craig Mathieson, three of Australia’s most highly regarded music writers, thought it was time there was a definitive overview of contemporary Australian music.

So they compiled a list of every major album released in Australia. From there they debated, culled, ordered and re-ordered a list of definitive ‘albums’, not just particular bands or songs, and came up with the final list of The 100 Best Australian Albums from the rock & pop era.
