The Gurus have been a part of the Australian music psyche since they brought us classic songs like ‘Tojo’, ‘My Girl’ and ‘I Want You Back’ and more than 100 other songs they have written, recorded and played that have meant something to someone some time - there is no denying that on record or live, they ARE Oz rock royalty.
The Purity Of Essence Special Edition CD + DVD features a repackaged release of their latest album, their ninth - Purity Of Essence plus the six part ‘Must Travel On Wheels’ mockumentary.
With tongue firmly in cheek, ‘Must Travel On Wheels’ takes the viewer and fan behind the scenes of the Hoodoo Gurus and explores the way a band comes together to record an album. Each episode contains a performance of a song from the new album accompanying the ‘making of’ footage.
