SUNCORP "CALL SUNCORP FOR A QUOTE & YOU COULD WIN $25,000" PROMOTION
1. The promoter is Suncorp Metway Insurance Limited ABN 83 075 695 966 of Suncorp Centre, Level 18, 36 Wickham Terrace Brisbane QLD 4000 (the “Promoter”).
2. Information on how to enter and the prize forms part of these Terms and Conditions. By entering this promotion, entrants acknowledge that they have read, understand and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
3. Entry is only open to residents of Queensland aged 18 years or over. Persons under the age of 18 are not eligible to enter. 4. Employees of the Promoter, Suncorp authorised representatives and agencies associated with this promotion and their immediate families are ineligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.
5. To enter the promotion and receive an automatic entry into the draw, individuals must, during the Promotion Period, request and receive a quote for 'comprehensive car insurance' issued by the Promoter for their car (a passenger motor vehicle, 4WD, utility or van with a carrying capacity up to 2 tonnes, manufactured after 1975) by:
1. calling 13 11 55 or 1800 117 597 between 8.00am (Queensland time) and 10.00pm (Queensland time) and providing the requested details including their full name, contact telephone number, the street address where their car will be garaged and their car registration details (if applicable); OR
2. visiting a Suncorp branch in person during business hours and providing the requested details including their full name, contact telephone number, the street address where their car will be garaged and their car registration details (if applicable). 6. The maximum cost of the call to the 13 11 55 or 1800 117 597 number will not exceed the cost of a local call when the call is made from a landline in Queensland. Calls from mobile phones or pay phones may attract a higher rate.
7. To receive one bonus entry into the draw, entrants must take out the ‘comprehensive car insurance’ quoted by providing verbal consent over the phone (i.e. calling 13 11 55 or 1800 117 597) or in person (i.e. visiting a Suncorp branch), during the Promotion Period.
8. Entries for the promotion open on 21/11/2010 and close at 10:00pm (Queensland time) on 28/02/2011 for quotes for ‘comprehensive car insurance’ provided over the phone and at close of business (for quotes provided in person) on 28/02/2011. To be eligible to receive a bonus entry, individuals must take out the quoted ‘comprehensive car insurance’ by 10.00pm (Queensland time) over the phone or by close of business in person at a Suncorp branch on 28/02/2011 (the “Promotion Period”).
9. The prize for this promotion is $25,000, awarded in the form of a cheque (the “Prize”).
10. The Prize draw will take place at Suncorp Centre, Level 18, 36 Wickham Terrace Brisbane QLD 4000 on 17/03/2011 at 3:00pm (Queensland time). The first valid entry drawn will win the Prize. If invalid, the next valid entry drawn will win the Prize. An entrant does not need to be in attendance at the draw in order to win the Prize.
11. The winner will be notified by telephone and confirmed by mail by 24/03/2011.
12. Initial entries will be deemed to be accepted at the time a quote is provided to the entrant by the Promoter and not at the start of the telephone call or conversation. Bonus entries will be deemed to be accepted at the time an entrant provides verbal consent to the Promoter to proceed with the ‘comprehensive car insurance’ and not at the start of the telephone call or conversation.
13. Incomplete or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid.
14. Multiple entries permitted, subject to the following: (a) only one initial entry permitted per quote for 'comprehensive car insurance'; (b) if an entrant provided their car registration details at time of organising a quote with the Promoter, a limit of one entry per car will apply; and (c) only one bonus entry per quote proceeded with. Entrants can only enter in their own name.
15. The Prize is not transferable or exchangeable.
16. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant's identity, age, place of residence and car registration details, if applicable). Proof of identification, residency and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's discretion.
17. It is a condition of accepting the Prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
18. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who it has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter's legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
19. If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law, and subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
20. If for any reason the Prize is unclaimed the Promoter may conduct such further draws at the same place as the original draw as necessary at 3pm (Queensland time) 3 months from the original Prize draw date in order to distribute the unclaimed Prize. The unclaimed Prize winner will be notified by telephone and by mail.
21. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury, or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter's control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any tax liability incurred by the winner or entrant; or (e) use of the prize.
22. The Promoter's decision in relation to any aspect of the promotion is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
23. The Promoter may require the winner of the promotion to partake in reasonable media exposure, including but not limited to future promotional, marketing and publicity without any further reference, payment or other compensation.
24. All entries become the property of the Promoter and entrant's personal details will be stored at the Promoter's address. The winner’s personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments as required by law. The Promoter may also use and disclose personal information for the purpose of conducting this promotion and providing entrants with information concerning its range of financial products and services. Entry is conditional on providing this information.
25. An entrant’s personal information is collected, used and disclosed in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy available at
