The Summer Read is back on, so turn off the TV and pick up a book.
Choose from a list of ten books set in Victoria or written by Victorian authors including, fiction, memoir and crime. Books in The Summer Read are:

* Below the Styx, Michael Meehan
* Book of lost threads, Tess Evans
* The Diggers Rest Hotel, Geoffrey McGeachin
* Flying with paper wings, Sandy Jeffs
* Into the woods: the battle for Tasmania's forests, Anna Krien
* Piano lessons, Anna Goldsworthy
* Rocks in the belly, Jon Bauer
* The sleepers almanac no. 6, anthology
* Stealing Picasso, Anson Cameron

The Summer Read is presented by the State Library of Victoria and Victorian public libraries.

* 1st prize: A pack of 50 great Victorian books (valued at $1500)
* 2nd prize: A pack of 30 great Victorian books (valued at $900)
* 3rd prize: A pack of 20 great Victorian books (valued at $600)
* 10 additional prizes of packs of 10 books (valued at $300)
Entry forms can be returned to your local participating library. Entries close on Friday 4 March.

Winners' names will be announced in The Australian newspaper on 15 April 2011, and winners and top recommended reads will be published on the State Library of Victoria’s website on the same day.

Entry is open to Victorian residents only.• State Library of Victoria employees are eligible to register a reading recommendation, but will not be entered in the prize draw.
