Joanna Lumley, star of classics such as The New Avengers and Absolutely Fabulous has always had a thing for cats, from tiny kittens to lions and tigers and in this 90 minute journey through 5000 years of cat history we learn just why cats have held such a sway over so many cultures and how the ferocious tigers and lions are related to the cuddly creatures that get under you feet whenever they want a tasty treat.
Along the way Lumley meets actress Tipi Hendren, visits a cat show and gets introduced to a rock band whose members are all cats!

Only in stories do cats have 9 lives. People use the expression because cats are very athletic and never seem to get hurt. Cats are very smart and can recover quickly.
