Some classic British comedy action is well to the fore in new Madman releases Home To Roost and The Rag Trade. The second series of both shows make their arrival on DVD this month and to celebrate we have five prize packs featuring both titles up for grabs!
In The Rag Trade work is a four-letter word for the fine females of Fenner Fashions who spend more time dodging duties and getting into comic capers than concentrating on the job in hand. Despite union shop steward Paddy (the sadly missed Miriam Karlin) and her button-sewing battalion waging a comic war that tries the patience of their employer Mr. Fenner (Peter Jones) somehow they manage to deliver the goods. This set features all seven episodes from the second series of the 70s revival of the show.
In Home To Roost the footloose and fancy free life as a carefree divorcee of Henry Willows (the superb John Thaw) comes to a grinding halt when his eldest son turns up on the doorstep. Like father like son the pair are far more similar than either would give credit for and their domestic disharmony leads to comic situations that not even two cleaners can sweep under the carpet! Domestic bliss will never be the same as the generation gap is brought firmly home.
