Simply cut out Christmas Cash Coupons to the value of $20,000 in The West Australian and The Weekend West.

Collecting $20,000 in Christmas Cash Coupons is easy!  A valid entry of $20,000 can consist of:
•One $10,000 coupon from The Weekend West PLUS two $5,000 weekday coupons from The West Australian  OR
•Any four $5,000 weekday coupons from The West Australian

How to enter Week One
(Saturday 5 November – Friday 11 November)

Simply cut out Week One Christmas Cash Coupons from The West Australian  and The Weekend West to the total value of $20,000 between Saturday, November 5 and Friday, November 11, 2011 and complete your details on at least one of the coupons for your chance to WIN. Remember only ONE $10,000 Christmas Cash Coupon from The Weekend West can be used per entry. You can enter as often as you like, just make sure you place each entry in a separate envelope.

The Week One winner of $20,000 Christmas Cash will be drawn and notified on Friday, November 18 and published in The West Australian on Tuesday, November 23, 2011.

1)    Instructions on how to enter, prize details and other information contained within the promotional advertisements form part of these terms and conditions.  By participating, in this promotion entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

2)    Valid entries consist of Christmas Cash Coupons with a total promotional value of $20,000 from The West Australian and The Weekend West from the same promotional week.  For example, a valid entry could consist of one The Weekend West cash coupon worth $10,000 and any two weekday coupons worth $5,000 each. Each week runs from Saturday to Friday. The coupon appearing in The Weekend West will have a promotional value of $10,000 and all coupons Monday-Friday in The West Australian will each have a promotional value of $5,000. Only one weekend $10,000 coupon is allowed within each entry. Entrants must have at least one coupon completely filled out including name, address and daytime contact phone number. The promotion will run for a five week period commencing on Saturday, November 5, 2011 and concluding on Friday, December 9, 2011.

3)    Only original entry coupons published within The West Australian and The Weekend West are valid.  Photocopies and facsimiles are not valid

4)    Subject to clause 13, entry is open to all residents of Western Australia aged 18 or over. Winners must provide proof of identity including proof of residential address e.g. driver’s license, utility bill, bank statement, proof of age  (e.g. copy of Drivers Licence, Passport, Birth certificate, Proof of Age card) as well as bank account details in order to receive their prize.

5)    Entries can either be received via mail, addressed in the Australia Post preferred way as indicated on each coupon or entries can be received at participating newsagents.  Readers can enter as many times as they like but each entry (set of coupons to the promotional value of $20,000) must be sent in a separate envelope. Only place coupons in the envelope. Entrants are only eligible to win the major prize of $20,000 once.

6)    Entries must be posted to the address stated on the coupon by last mail on Thursday on the following dates: November 17, 2011, November 24, 2011, December 1, 2011, December 8, 2011 and December 15, 2011. Entries must be received at participating newsagents by Tuesday on the following dates: November 15, 2011, November 22, 2011, November 29, 2011, December 6, 2011 and December 13, 2011.

7)    The weekly draw will take place on November 18, 2011, November 25, 2011, December 2, 2011, December 9, 2011 and December 16, 2011, at 10.00am at The West Australian offices and will have an internal auditor from The West Australian present.

Cool    The Promoter in conjunction with Courier Australia will collect entries from newsagencies in time for the weekly prize draws.  Should however unforeseen circumstances arise whereby entries are not collected and/or delivered in time for the draw, the Promoter and associated agencies will not be held responsible and the draw will still take place at the scheduled time.

9)    Winners will be contacted by phone on the date of the draws and published each week on Tuesday on the following dates: November 22, 2011, November 29, 2011, December 6, 2011, December 13, 2011 and December 20, 2011.  The Promoter will make every attempt to contact the winner, if however a winner is not contactable on the phone number provided on their entry coupon by the Tuesday after their name has been drawn, the winner will be sent a letter. If the winner doesn’t contact The West Australian within a week of the date of this letter, the winner will forfeit their prize.

10)    There are five major prize winners of $20,000 (one per week for five weeks). This will be supplied to each winner as an electronic transfer or cheque only if an electronic transfer is not possible.  If the weekly winner is a home delivery customer they will receive an additional $5,000 making the weekly prize for a Home Delivery customer $25,000.  A minimum of $100,000 will be given away over the competition period of five weeks if no winners are Home Delivery customers and a maximum of $125,000 will be given away if the five winners are Home Delivery customers.

11)    To be eligible for the additional $5,000 as a Home Delivery customer, all subscribers must have the home delivery of The West Australian and/or The Weekend West started and confirmed prior to the prize draw and provide proof of Home Delivery to the satisfaction of the promoter. 

12)    All of the prizes must be taken as supplied and cannot be exchanged.

13)    Employees of West Australian Newspapers Limited Group, their subsidiaries and immediate families are ineligible to enter.

14)    All contestants release from, and indemnify the Promoter, against, all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of acceptance of any prize or participation in the competition including (but not limited to) loss of income, personal injury and damage to property and whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.
15)    The Promoter and associated agencies accept no responsibility for any loss, damage, accident, death or injury resulting from the promotion.

16)    The Promoter’s decision is final and cannot be contested.  No correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter reserves the right to limit entry or amend rules if considered necessary without notice.

17)    The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any individual who the promoter believes has breached any of these terms and conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct. The promoter has legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender.

18)    It is a condition of entry that all prize winners agree to have their name, photo and suburb published for publicity purposes if required. By participating in this competition, participants signify their acceptance of all conditions and the requirement to participate in promotional activity if required.

19)    On completion of the prize draw, all entries will be stored for a 12 month period at The West Australian. All coupon entries will be destroyed after this time period.
20)    20.1 The entrant consents to the use by West Australian Newspapers Limited and its related corporations (as defined by the Corporations Act 2001) of the entrants’ details and acknowledges that West Australian Newspapers and its related corporations, may, at its discretion disclose and use those details for the purpose of providing them with goods or services, communicating with entrants, planning, research, product and business development and sales, the promotion and marketing (whether target, direct or indirect) of their businesses, services or products or those of a third party which it believes may be of benefit to them. The details will also be used to investigate complaints, as required or permitted by any law, to enable West Australian Newspapers to perform its obligations under this or any other agreement and to ensure that an entrant performs their obligations under this or any other agreement.
20.2 If an entrant does not want their details to be used for the purposes stated in clause 20.1 please write to us at The West Australian (attention Group General Counsel), GPO Box D162 Perth WA 6840, or contact the Group General Counsel on 08 9482 3111 and West Australian Newspapers will ensure that the details are not used for that purpose.
20.3 For details of West Australian Newspapers’ Privacy Policy, please go to www.thewest.com.au/privacypolicy  or contact the Group General Counsel to obtain a copy.
20.4 To access personal information kept by West Australian Newspapers please contact the Customer Services Team on 1800 811 855 at The West Australian. Please note that information will only be provided to the person detailed and current photographic identification may be required prior to the release of any personal information.
