There’s an app for that!
After finding 7 out of 10 Australian men want to spend more time with their mates but are hamstrung by work and home commitments, Pepsi Max has developed an application to help guys get that time together.
The Pepsi Max Top Mates application has now launched with a challenge to Australian males to download and use the app to be in contention to be named “Australia’s Top Mates”.
Top Mates gets you more time with your mates by creating a fake excuse to disguise where you are and what you’re doing. Supported by pictures and SFX, it automatically synchs your excuse with your mates, meaning if anyone asks where you are you really were “stuck in traffic.”
The application has been built to work on an iPhone® 3GS mobile handset and above using iOS 4.1 and above, an Android enabled mobile handset using Android OS 2.0 (Éclair) and above, or any web enabled smart phone with a 3G or Wi-Fi connection.

2. The competition commences on 28/10/11 at 00:01 AEST and concludes on 27/11/11 at 23:59 AEST.
3. To enter, participants must log onto
www.fhm.com.au/winstuff and correctly complete the online application and answer the proposed question in 25 words or less. Each entry must be sent in a separate application via
www.fhm.com.au. Eligible participants will be required to provide their own name, address, postcode, email address, DOB, gender and telephone number. The promoter takes no responsibility for any late, lost or mis-directed entries.
4. Entry is open to all legal residents of Australia. No purchase is necessary. Employees and their immediate families of ACP Magazines and their agencies and companies associated with the promotion are ineligible to enter.
5. The judging of the entries will commence on 28/11/11 at 11:30 AEST at the offices of ACP Magazines, Level 24, 66 – 68 Goulburn Street, Sydney NSW 2000. Entries will be selected by a panel of judges and will be determined based on creativity of the answer. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners.
6. Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Prizes cannot be transferred. Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash.
7. The promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity and proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the promoter.
8. Prize winners are advised that Tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and they should seek independent financial advice prior to the acceptance of the prize.
9. The promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the promoter in its absolute discretion.
10. If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process.
11. The winner will be notified by telephone or mail. The prize will be sent to the winner’s address by post.
12. Prize values are the recommended retail value as provided by the supplier and are correct at time of printing. All prize values are in Australian dollars.
13. The promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
14. ACP Magazines and its agencies and companies associated with this promotion will take no responsibility for prizes damaged in transit.
15. All entries become the property of the promoter. All winning entries will be entered into a database and the promoter may use the winners' names, addresses and telephone numbers for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid unless otherwise advised by the entrant.
16. There will be 1 major prize winner and 9 minor prize winners. The major prize winner will receive a Pepsi Max Top Mates prize pack valued at $647.07 and the 9 minor prize winners will each receive a Pepsi Max and Nobby’s Nuts prize pack valued at $25.08. 17. Total prize pool is $872.79. In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.
