Herald Sun Australian Open Ticket Competition

Summer in Australia is tennis. Balmy nights, world-class tennis players, colourful fans, live entertainment at Grand Slam® Oval and all the tennis action live on the big screen at Garden Square. For two weeks in January, Melbourne Park has it all.
Thanks to the Herald Sun three lucky readers will win a double pass to the Australian Open women’s final, and 20 runners up will receive a double pass to the opening rounds.

To go into the draw, fill in your details below and tell us in 25 words or less “which player would you want to live like and why?”

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
By entering the Herald Sun Australian Open Ticket competition “the Competition”, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:
1. STANDARD TERMS
1.1 Information on how to enter the Competition forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the Competition is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry.
2. WHO CAN ENTER?
2.1 Subject to clause 2.2, entry is only open to residents of Victoria.
2.2 Employees and their immediate families of the Promoters (The Herald & Weekly Times Pty Ltd and Tennis Australia), and their associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether by natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or first cousin.
3. HOW TO ENTER
3.1 The Competition commences on Thursday November 15, 2012 at 00.01 (AEST) and concludes on Sunday November 18, 2012 at 23:59 (“the Competition Period”).
3.2 To enter the Competition, entrants must go to www.heraldsun.com.au/competitions and submit the online entry form including the entrant’s full name, address, postcode, day contact number and email address and an answer in 25 words of less to the question that appears on the competition advertisement in the Herald Sun November 15 - 17.
3.3 Only one entry per valid email address. Entries submitted via phone or email are invalid and will not be accepted.
3.4 The Promoters reserve the right to verify the validity of entries and disqualify an entrant for tampering with the entry process or for submitting an entry which is not in accordance with the terms and conditions.
3.5 Entrants must obtain the prior permission of a parent or guardian over the age of 18 years to enter before entering the Competition.
4. PRIZE
The first three (3) entries randomly drawn in accordance with these terms and conditions will win a double pass to the 2013 Australian Open Semi Finals, which will take place at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, on Saturday January 26, 2013 from 7:30pm
The next twenty (20) entries randomly selected will be runners-up and will receive a double pass to an Australian Open Round 1 or 2 match at Rod Laver Arena, which will take place at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne (Day or Night) on either January 14, 15, 16 or 17, 2013. Tickets will be awarded on draw in the following order:
1st runner up: Day Pass, Monday Jan 14
2nd runner up: Day Pass, Monday Jan 14
3rd runner up: Day Pass, Monday Jan 14
4th runner up: Night Pass, Monday Jan 14
5th runner up: Night Pass, Monday Jan 14
6th runner up: Night Pass, Monday Jan 14
7th runner up: Day Pass, Tuesday Jan 15
8th runner up: Day Pass, Tuesday Jan 15
9th runner up: Day Pass, Tuesday Jan 15
10th runner up: Night Pass, Tuesday Jan 15
11th runner up: Night Pass, Tuesday Jan 15
12th runner up: Day Pass, Wednesday Jan 16
13th runner up: Day Pass, Wednesday Jan 16
14th runner up: Day Pass, Wednesday Jan 16
15th runner up: Night Pass, Wednesday Jan 16
16th runner up: Night Pass, Wednesday Jan 16
17th runner up: Day Pass, Thursday Jan 17

5. HOW TO WIN
5.1 The prizes will be randomly drawn at HWT, 40 City Road, Southbank, VIC 3006 from 10am Monday November 19, 2012.
5.2 The winners will be notified by telephone and mail and their names and postcodes of residence will be published on heraldsun.com.au/competitions.
5.3 The Promoters’ decision is final and the Promoters will not enter into correspondence regarding the result.
5.4 If an entrant marks the “opt-in” box on the entry form, the entrant consents to storage of his or her personal information on the specified companies’ databases and the specified companies may use this information at any time in the future for promotional and marketing purposes regarding their respective products or services including contacting the entrant via electronic messaging.
6 NO LIABILITY
6.1 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoters’ ability to proceed with the competition on the date and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoters may in their absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to State Legislation.
6.2 To be eligible to win the prize, entrants must be between 10 and 14 years of age.
6.3 The Promoters and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss (including but not limited to consequential loss) or claim that may occur:
6.3.1 during the draw;
6.3.2 whilst undertaking any travel connected with their entry into the draw;
6.3.3 in the participation in the prize;
6.3.4 as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;
6.3.5 due to the broadcast of any program relating to the Competition or the publication of any material, including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person;
6.3.6 arising from or related to any problem or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines or mobile communications network related to or resulting from participation in this promotion; or
6.3.7 due to circumstances outside the Promoters’ reasonable control.
6.4 The Promoters and their affiliates assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission; communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.
6.5 If, for any reason, this Competition is not capable of being conducted as planned, including, but not limited, due to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoters which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoters reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to State Legislation.
6.6 The winning entrants and their companions acknowledge that they participate in the events that form part of the prize at their own risk. If the winning entrant or his or her companion becomes aware of any medical condition or impairment that will be detrimental to their health if they participate in the events that form part of the prize they must withdraw from those events
7 PROMOTERS’ DETAILS

All entries become the property of the Promoters. The Promoters collect your personal information to assist us in providing the goods or services you have requested, to process your competition entries, and to improve our products and services. The Promoters are bound by the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. We or any of our Australian related companies may contact you by any means (including by SMS or e-mail) in the future to let you know about goods, services or promotions which may be of interest to you. We may also share your information with other persons or entities who assist us in providing our services or running competitions or with other companies who provide prizes for competitions or reader offers. HWT is part of a global media and entertainment group and would like to share your information with our related companies so that they can contact you with offers. By marking the "opt-in" boxes on the Web Site entry form you consent to the storage and use of your personal information by HWT, and any participating News Limited company, other connected entities for the marketing purposes as set out next to opt-in boxes and as detailed above.
