Doobie Brothers: Let the Music Play is the authorized story of The Doobie Brothers from their beginnings as a biker band to their breakthrough with Listen to the Music in 1972, sustained successes and line-up changes in the mid '70s, their change in musical direction and further success with the arrival of Michael McDonald in 1976. Worn out by non-stop touring and internal dissent, the band broke up in 1982, following a "farewell" concert. There were sporadic reunions in the '80s before the band re-formed permanently in the early '90s and have continued touring and recording ever since. This new film features contributions from all surviving key band members, producer Ted Templeton and manager Bruce Cohen.
