Competition Terms and Conditions
The total prize pool is valued at $2,696. This consists of
1 major prize, being a Beefeater Discovery BBQ valued at $1,499.00 and 3 minor prizes, being 3 orange Panasonic Lumix cameras valued at $399 each, to be awarded to the prize winners by means of a gift.Information on how to enter, information at facebook.com/australianunity, and prizes, form part of these terms and conditions of entry.
The promoter is Australian Unity Group Services Pty Ltd ABN 29 006 803 069 of 114 Albert Rd, South Melbourne, Victoria, 3205 (Promoter). Authorized under ACT License TP 12/05140 and NSW Licence LTPS/12/11309.
Employees of the Promoter and any of its related bodies corporate and immediate families of those employees are ineligible to enter this competition.
The competition runs from 12.01am, 11/1/2013 to 5pm 09/02/2013 in all states (Competition Period).
To be eligible for the prize draw a person
must be over 18 years of age, be Australian residents and have satisfied all conditions of entry.
If you are under 18 years old at the date you enter the draw, you must have consent from your parent or legal guardian to enter, and parent or legal guardian must agree to ensure that you comply with these terms and conditions. The Promoter reserves the right to request a signed consent form from the parent or legal guardian of a participant under 18 years at any stage during the Competition Period. Parents or legal guardians will be required to accept the prize if an entrant under 18 is the winner. Expenses or liabilities incurred by the parent or legal guardian to do this will not be covered by the Promoter.
To enter, individuals must visit facebook.com/australianunity (Page) and enter via the app on the Page as follows:
Individuals may provide their name, contact details and date of birth to receive one entry into the draw; or
Individuals may provide their name, contact details, date of birth and upload an image of a ‘best barbecue moment’ or describe their ‘best barbecue moment’ in 100 words or less to receive three entries into the draw; or
Individuals may provide their name, contact details, date of birth and upload an image of a ‘best barbecue moment’ and describe their ‘best barbecue moment’ in 100 words or less to receive five entries into the draw.Having complied with this condition, along with all other terms and conditions of entry, the Promoter will, in its discretion, record the individual’s entry as a valid entry into the
random prize draw.There is no fee for entry. Only one attempt at entry in line with paragraph 8 per person will be accepted.
The individuals submitting a photo and/or a story indemnify the Promoter against any liability under privacy law and/or intellectual property law.
The Promoter will not accept any entry and may remove or alter any entry that is in any way:
obscene, threatening, harassing, abusive, defamatory, fraudulent, deceptive, misleading, offensive or hateful in any way, or gratuitously sexual; and/or
violates or potentially violates another person’s intellectual property rights or may break the law in any way.
Once the entrant has entered the promotion in line with these terms, whether valid or not, the Promoter may share all or part of the entry over the Promoter’s Page and Twitter account and other online channels at any time from 11 January 2013 until 31 December 2013.
The random prize draws will be held on 12/02/2013 at 2.00pm at NOW Solutions, 43 Cubitt Street, Cremorne 3121. The major prize will be drawn first and the three minor prizes will be awarded to the next three valid entrants drawn at random.
The prize-winners will be notified by email, and a public notice of the winners will be published on the Promoter’s Facebook and Twitter account and on the Promoter’s other online media on 13/02/2013.
If any one of the prizes is not claimed by 13/05/2013 a second chance random draw will take place on this date and the new prize-winner will be notified by email, and a public notice of the winner will be published on the Promoter's Facebook site as well as the Promoter's Twitter account on 15/05/2013.
The prize winners agree to, if drawn as prize winners, the Promoter being able to share their entries on the Page, the Promoter’s twitter account and other online media in the Promoter’s discretion, at any time from 11 January 2013 until 31 December 2013. For the avoidance of doubt, the prize winners must irrevocably assign to the Promoter all necessary intellectual property rights to give effect to these terms, including signing any further documentation that may be requested by the Promoter.
The prizes are not transferable or refundable.
The Promoter may require the winner to provide proof of identity, proof of age and proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the Promoter’s discretion.
The Promoter’s decisions in relation to all aspects of this promotion are final, and the Promoter will not enter into any correspondence.
To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury which is suffered or sustained by any entrant/winner as a result of participating in this promotion, or accepting any prize.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from winning the prize. Independent financial advice should be sought by entrants if unsure.
Subject to these terms and conditions, all entries will be the property of the Promoter. The information entrants provide will be retained by the Promoter (and not Facebook) and used by the Promoter for the purpose of conducting this competition and communicating with entrants as to future offers, information and/or marketing promotions. The Promoter may disclose entrants’ personal information to its contractors and agents to assist in conducting this Promotion or communicating with entrants. The Promoter is bound by the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. The Promoter’s privacy policy is available on the Promoter’s website at

The Promoter releases Facebook from any liability in relation to this promotion.
