Featuring more than 100 paintings, drawings, posters and prints, the exhibition is drawn from 30 major international collections including the Tate and the British Museum, London, the Musée d'Orsay, Paris, the Musée Toulouse-Lautrec, Albi and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, as well as significant private collections from around the world.
Toulouse-Lautrec: Paris and the Moulin Rouge traces the artist's career from his earliest works to his extraordinary depictions of the Paris social scene of the late 1800s; the famous dance halls such as the Moulin Rouge, the café-concerts, cabarets, theatres and bordellos. Toulouse-Lautrec captured the essence of Parisian nightlife and emerged as one of the most influential Post-Impressionists.
From 11 February, we will be giving you the chance to win a trip to Canberra to visit the National Gallery of Australia to see the Toulouse-Lautrec: Paris and the Moulin Rouge exhibit.
