Punch Colour Catcher Review and Giveaway
http://mummysmiles.com/reviews/punch-colour-catcher-review-and-giveaway/
A couple of months ago, we had a very long, and often times amusing, conversation on the Mummy Smiles Facebook page about how we all “do” our laundry. I found it really interesting that there seemed to be a 50/50 split between those who sorted the whites from the colours before washing, and those who just threw it all in and hoped for the best.
In all honesty, I have probably belonged in both camps at different times. As we are on tank water, we have been through some very dry periods in which I had to be so careful with water that we would “save up” the laundry so that we would do as few loads in a week as possible. Other times, and especially on school holidays, I have been swamped with the sheer volume of clothes that had to be washed, and stood carefully sorting through the clothes into darks, colours and whites. However now I have a new process which seems to be the best of all, thanks to Punch Colour Catcher which is a unique in-wash product designed to prevent colour runs, keep colours bright, and is the ONLY “preventative” colour run product on the market. Unfortunately I am all too familiar with what happens when you find a colour-run AFTER the wash. If your lucky, it can be treated and recovered after the wash, but often times the colour runs means that clothes are relegated to the “play clothes” drawer, or the rag bin.
![](http://mummysmiles.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/IMG_8757.jpg) Punch Colour Catcher works by attracting dyes, like a magnet, through an electrostatic process. Deceptively simple, the sheet has a 3d polymer matrix which permanently traps loose dye. Basically what that means to you and me is that as the clothes are washing in the machine, the sheets swirls through the water, and removes and loose dyes so that the clothes comes out looking they way they should.
Even if you tend to avoid the colour runs, my biggest issue has always been the greying of whites. I find it sooo frustrating to have a beautiful crisp white shirt, which loses it’s brightness after a few washes. The Punch Colour Catcher will actually show the proof in the sheet after each watch – you can see this sheet has come out looking grey as a result of the loose dyes that have been attracted during the wash.
It’s easy to use, and can be added to either a top-loading or front-loading machine, as well as in hand washing. If you happen to lose it between the washer and the dryer, don’t stress – it is safe in the dryer, and won’t cause any harm to the skin if it touched or squeezed when wet or dry. You can see below how easily it blends with the water as the tub is filling.
