In 1947, Thor Heyerdahl, set out to drift from Peru to Polynesia on a balsa wood raft. Accompanied by an inexperienced crew the charismatic Heyerdahl was intent on proving his theory that Polynesia was populated by South Americans not Asians.
The resulting journey saw the crew battling shark attacks, raging storms and razor sharp coral reefs and has been brought to the big screen as an epic, edge of your seat adventure.
Nominated for both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Kon-Tiki is in cinemas nationally 11 April 2013.
