BIG W 200K Facebook Fans Competition ‐ Terms & Conditions:
This document sets out the Terms and Conditions of the BIG W 200K Facebook Fans competition
(Competition).
1. The Promoters of this Competition are BIG W Promotions Pty Ltd (ACN 121 584 923) of 1
Woolworths Way Bella Vista, NSW 2153
2. Entry to the Competition is open to all Australian residents. An entrant must be an individual
and not a company or organisation. Before being eligible to collect a prize, each winner must
provide to the Promoter proof of age. If the winner is under 18 years old, the winner must
provide the full name, address and telephone number of the winner’s legal guardian to the
Promoter. Before a winner is eligible to collect a prize, the winner's legal guardian will be
required to sign a release and to accept responsibility for the acts and forbearances of the
winner. Failure to provide such proof of age, particulars or releases will immediately invalidate
the winner’s entitlement to the prize, subject to state legislation.
3. The Promoter, other entities and agencies associated with this Competition, their related bodies
corporate and each of their officers, agents, employees and immediate family of any of them are
ineligible to enter. “Immediate family” means spouse, parent, child or sibling, whether or not
they live in the same household as the employee.
4. Every entry must be entered in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. By entering the
Competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. The Promoter
may, in its discretion, refuse to award any prize to any entrant who fails to comply with these
Terms and Conditions.
5. Entry to the Competition is free.
6. Entrants must ‘like’ the BIG W Facebook page to access the competition.
7. The Competition opens at 10am AEST on Monday, March 11th, 2012 and closes at 5.30pm AEST
on Friday, March 15th, 2012 (Competition Period). Any entry received after the expiry of the
Competition Period will be deemed invalid. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost, delayed
or misdirected entries.
8. Users may enter once per day, for the five days of the competition.
9. In order to enter, users must register their name, email address and phone number. Entrants are
then provided a question and asked to search through the virtual BIG W store to find the answer
to that question. The first 10 people to answer the question correctly each day will win one of
the daily prizes.
10. To claim your prize it is mandatory to provide your email address and phone number in the
information request section.
11. We will post some of the winners by first name, city location and prize they won on our
Facebook wall.
12. There total prize pool is valued at $912.10. There are five different prizes across five days, with
10 winners each day. The prizes are as follows:

DAY TWO: Angry Birds Knock on Wood Game RRP $28.84
DAY THREE: Kath and Kim Season 1 DVD RRP $12.87
DAY FOUR: Nifty Shoe Box Organisers 10 Pack $14.86
DAY FIVE: Lego Star Wars Set RRP $18.72
13. All entries completed and submitted in accordance with these Terms and Conditions will be
judged at the Promoter’s office at 12 noon (AEST) each day following the completion of the
previous day’s question. Ten (10) prize winners will be selected by a panel of judges appointed
by the Promoter. The Winners will be the entrants whose entry fulfills the entry criteria by
being one of the first ten (10) correct entries received. This is a game of skill. There is no
element of chance in the judging of the Competition or determination of the Winners.
14. The Winners will be notified by email or phone at the conclusion of the judging using the
contact details provided in their entry.
15. The judges’ decision (including any decisions as to prize distribution) is final and the Promoter
will not enter into correspondence regarding the result.
16. The Promoter reserves the right to request that the Winners provide proof of age and/or
identity prior to awarding Prizes. Identification considered suitable for the verification is at the
sole discretion of the Promoter.
17. It is a condition of accepting the Prize that the Winners may be required to sign a legal release
in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
18. If the Promoter is unable to contact a Winner within two (2) weeks of the date of judging the
Competition, that Winner will forfeit the relevant Prize in its entirety and the Prize shall be
awarded to the next runner up in the Competition. The Promoter will not be liable for a Winner
who does not respond to the Promoter’s email contact attempts and therefore forfeits their
Prize and no correspondence will be entered into.
19. The Promoter reserves the right to re‐judge the Competition in the event that an entrant, who
was initially deemed to be the winner, is unable to satisfy any of these Terms and Conditions.
20. Any costs associated with entering this Competition or claiming prizes (such as internet service
charges) are the responsibility of the entrant.
21. Subject to any restrictions in law and subject to clause 23, the liability of the Promoter however
arising, whether by breach of any condition or warranty implied by statute or of this agreement
or of any duty of tort (including negligence) is limited to the total value of the relevant Prize.
22. The Promoter and their associated agencies and companies will take no responsibility for prizes
damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.
23. The Promoter and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any
misadventure, accident, injury, loss (including but not limited to consequential loss) or claim
suffered or brought by an entrant:
a) during the judging;
b) in their participation in this Competition or in any Prize;
c) as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;
d) as a result of failure to comply with any of these terms and conditions; or
e) due to the publication of any material, including any statements made by any staff member,
journalist, other entrants or any other person.
24. The Promoter and its affiliates accept no responsibility for any problems or technical
malfunction of any communication network or for any late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly
submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected entries, claims or correspondence
whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft or destruction or
unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries, and reserves the right to take any action that
may be available.
25. If, for any reason, this Competition is not capable of being conducted as planned, including, but
not limited, due to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or for any
other reason which may corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or
proper conduct of this Competition, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to
disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be
available or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, subject to state
legislation.
26. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly
hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the Competition on the dates and in the manner
described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures,
tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter
may in its absolute discretion cancel the Competition and recommence it from the start on the
same conditions.
27. If there is any event that prevents or hinders the Promoter's conduct of the Competition or the
Promoter's ability to deliver the prize(s) to the prize winner(s) of the Competition, the Promoter
may, in its discretion, cancel the Competition and recommence it at another time under the
same conditions or select another winner.
28. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to reject bulk entries which it considers to
have been generated using software to generate multiple entries.
29. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with,
Facebook. You are providing your information to BIG W Australia and not to Facebook. The
information you provide will only be used for contact purposes in case you are one of the
competition's winner, to ensure the delivery of the prize.
