After a several years of staring at their shoes and muttering when people attempted to buy their music, the Brass Knuckle Brass Band are finally making themselves available in a recorded format.
The band recently laid down an EP in Melbourne under the watchful eyes and listenful ears of Tristan Ludowyk and Bob Knob, the engineers/alchemists behind some of the grittiest Australian funk and soul releases in recent memory, including award-winning LPs by the Cactus Channel and the Bombay Royale.
The band will launch the recording on Friday June 7 at the Polish White Eagle Club. As well as a whole bunch of new BKBB material, the night will feature soulful reggae from Beth & Ben, the horn-driven polyrhythms of Nyash! Afrobeat Collective and the deepest and dopest vinyl selections from DJ Timber.
If you just can’t wait to hear the new release, email
