As the colder weather creeps in, the need for heaters and electric blankets rises. The increased use of electrical equipment in the home means the risk of house fires is often greatest during winter. Fire protection specialist Wormald urges householders to be extra vigilant and adequately protected against fire, particularly during the colder months.
To mark the beginning of winter, Wormald is giving away 20 fire safety kits to help protect homes from fire. Each fire safety kit includes a 1kg ABE fire extinguisher, photoelectric smoke alarm and fire blanket.

Eligible participants will be required but not limited to provide their own name, address, postcode, telephone number and answer in 25 words or less "Why would you like a Wormald fire safety kit?" to complete their entry. Incomplete entries will be ineligible. Online competition entrants are required to become a member of the homelife online community. Homelife membership is free. 2. Entry is open to all permanent residents of Australia.
3. Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Prizes cannot be transferred. Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash.
4. Judging of the entries will commence on 1st July, 2013 at the offices of the promoter. If the winner is under the age of 18 years the prize will be awarded to their parent or legal guardian. Entries will be judged on creativity of entry. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners.
5. The promoter reserves the right to request the winner to provide proof of identity, proof of age and proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the promoter.
6. Prize winners are advised that Tax implications may arise from their prize winnings and they should seek independent financial advice prior to the acceptance of the prize.
7. The promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize. 10. Winners will be notified by email within 25 days from the judging date.
11. Prize values are the recommended retail value as provided by the supplier and are correct at time of printing. All prize values are in Australian dollars.
12. The promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prizes, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
13. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate and co-operate as required in all Editorial activities relating to the prize, including but not limited to being interviewed, photographed, filmed and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the prize.
