Melanie Stryder, her brother Jamie (Chandler Canterbury) and boyfriend Jared (Max Irons) are human rebels, on the run from an alien seeker (Diane Kruger) and one of the few humans left trying to resist alien invasion. When Melanie is caught trying to escape captivity by the seeker, her body is overtaken by a soul called Wanda. Melanie’s iron resistance to her implanted soul becomes an internal struggle and leads her on a journey to find what’s left of her human family.
Torn between the affection of two loves, Melanie is vying for her former human love Jared, against her bodies’ new inhabitant, who has fallen for a different human. Unsure about the threats that Melanie’s new species will possess, Jared must learn to trust Melanie and her new soul Wanda.
