To join the cider revolution with style and understanding
Flying Brick Cider by Leura Park Estate
Cider – it seems like yesterday there were just couple of brands to choose from and now, all of a sudden, there's a plethora of ciders from the boutique and artisanal to the big companies here and abroad. From sweet and fizzy to the dry and tart and the huge range in between, it can be a daunting task to begin your cider journey. But, be not afraid as we've taken the first step for you!
Introducing Flying Brick Cider, made by the winemakers at five star Leura Park Estate on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula and The Australian Cider Guide, two products that are sure to entice you to the apple (and pear) side of life.
Four lucky VisitVineyards.com subscribers will each win a mixed case of Flying Brick Cider plus a copy of The Guide.
Flying Brick Cider
The VisitVineyards.com team has taste-tested the three naturally brewed ciders from Flying Brick – the Original, Pear and Draught – and can highly recommend these refreshing beverages, each delicious in its own style.
And we're not the only ones who like them with the awarding of a Bronze Medal at the Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards to each earlier this year.
The ciders are naturally brewed using traditional methods and crafted from 100% crispy apples and succulent Packham pears, sourced from Victorian orchards. They're also free from added sugars, colours and concentrates.
As they say, unashamed and unrestrained – read their tasting notes here »
The Australian Cider Guide
As Max Allen says in his introduction, 'Australia is in the middle of a cider boom. Cider is everywhere. We can't get enough of the stuff...A boom can be exhilarating but it can also be daunting.'
Having so many to choose from and with new brands continually popping up, trying to find the ciders that suit your particular taste can almost put you off the whole idea – which would be boring! So The Australian Cider Guide is here, extending a helping hand to tempt you into discovering just why this explosion is happening.
It has some crucial background details on the history around the world and here in Australia, the importance of the right fruit, enjoying cider with/without food and sections on the different styles. With this information on board, you're now ready to start your tour (on paper for now) of many of Australia's cider brands through the following pages. The rest of your journey is up to you and your favourite bottleshop.
Review to come soon but in the meantime read the press release here »
