Toys"R"Us 'Chief Toy Tester' Competition - Terms and Conditions

Information on how to enter and prizes form part of the terms and conditions of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry. All entries are via online www.thehothits.com, www.take40.com and the My Generation Facebook page. Incomplete or incomprehensible entries will be deemed ineligible. This is a Game of Skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners.
To enter the competition, users will be required to log onto the website, and click through to the ‘Toys”R”Us Chief Toy Tester’ promotional title and upload a video of yourself/your child reviewing a favourite toy, (videos are to be no longer than 30 seconds in duration). All answers are required in English. The user will also be asked to register their details for an entry into the competition. Entrants will be required to leave their details including name, date of birth, address, phone number and e-mail address.
AUTOMATIC OPT-IN: By entering the promotion, unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that Toys”R”Us may use this information, in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant, including sending the entrant electronic messages promotions and offers
Entry for the major prize is open to all Australian residents 8 to 12 years and over. (Guardians to enter on behalf of their child). Employees of MCM Media or Toys”R”Us (Australia) Pty Ltd and their immediate families, associated agencies of MCM Media and companies associated with the promotion are not eligible to enter the promotion.
The competition commences on Friday 6th September 2013 at 12.00pm (AEST) and all entries must be received before Friday 27th September 2013 at 12:00pm (AEST).
All responses will be read and judged by a judging panel at Toys”R”Us, Block G Commercial Drive, 391 Park Road, Regents Park NSW 2143 on Friday 27th September at 2.00pm (AEST). The finalists will be notified by phone within one working day of the relevant judging date. The winner will be determined on their confidence, enthusiasm and ability to entertain.

Six (6) finalists will be selected.

Major Prize Winners
Two (2) major winners, one (1) boy and one (1) girl, will be selected from the six (6) finalists. The major prize winners will be awarded one (1) year long contract with Toys”R”Us (Australia) Ltd in the role of Chief Toy Tester, a toy pack from Toys”R”Us valued at a maximum of $5,000, the prize will be awarded as a toys delivered to the winners home bimonthly for 12 months (6 x deliveries in total), a Canon Digital SLR camera valued at a maximum of $600.00, a Toys”R”Us Staff Discount Card (20% full priced toys) and a Toys”R”Us gift card valued at $2,000.00.

Each Major Prize is valued at a maximum of $7,600.00 AUD (GST inclusive).

It is a condition of entry that the two major winners agree to participate in the following:
a.   Fulfill Toys”R”Us Chief Toy Expert requirements from Saturday 19 October 2013 to Saturday 18 October 2014, including using winners’ names and photos for promotion, advertising in relation to their role as Toys”R”Us Chief Toy Expert and on Toys”R”Us owned channels
b.   Attend at Media Training on Friday 18 October 2013 (1 day) as required by the Company;
c.   Attend the 20th Birthday Celebration event at Moore Park, Sydney on Saturday 19th October 2013 between 7.45am (AEST) and 12.00pm (AEST). This includes 2 x economy airfares (for the winner and their guardian) from the winners’ nearest capital city to Sydney, 2 x nights twin share accommodation in 3.5 star hotel and airport/event transfers, (should the winners nearest capital city be Sydney the flight, accommodation and transfer component of the prize will be forfeited and no replacement prize will be offered). Transportation to and from the event will be provided for NSW based winners.
d.   Attend at Toy Training (1/2 day) as required by the Toys”R”Us;
e.   Attend at a photo shoot (1/2 day);
f.   Attend up to 10 (10) face-to-face or email interviews and media opportunities (broadcast, print and online) including 5 publicity excursions as the TRU Chief Toys Expert over the 12 month period (travel and expenses to be provided) for campaigns which may include Christmas, July Toy Sale, theatrical releases.
g.   Submit a 30sec-1min video and write a review of each toy provided throughout the year. There will be up to 15 toys sent bimonthly (total of 6 toy packages to be received. Major Winners are also required to submit 30sec-1min video review of top 10 toys for Christmas 2013 and Toy Sale in June 2014. The content is subject to approval by the Company prior to posting.
h.   Attend the next Toys”R”Us Chief Toy Tester announcement event in Sydney, NSW in 2014.

Runner Up Winners
The four (4) remaining finalists will be awarded a $500 Toys”R”Us Gift Card.
The total prize pool is valued at a maximum of $9,600.00 AUD (GST inclusive).

Judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Prizes are not exchangeable or transferable and prizes cannot be redeemed for cash.
Toys”R”Us Staff Discount Card is valid from Saturday 19 October 2013 to Saturday 18 October 2014. Staff Discount Policy terms and conditions apply to Toys”R”Us Staff Discount Card. Entitled to receive 20% off full priced items when discount card is presented at the cashier at any Toys"R"Us or Babies"R"Us store in Australia. Not valid for online purchases. Toys”R”Us gift cards can be used for purchases at any Toys"R"Us or Babies"R"Us store in Australia. Gift card is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Gift card to be presented to the cashier at the time of purchase and the available balance will be applied to the purchase amount. Excludes online purchases. Lost or stolen cards cannot be replaced or refunded. Not redeemable for cash. Toys"R"Us reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions as circumstances require.
Prize values are the recommended retail value as provided by Toys”R”Us (Australia) Pty Ltd are correct at time of printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value.
The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any other prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
MCM Media and their associated agencies, and companies associated with this promotion will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit. Once prizes have left Promoter's premises, the Promoter will not be responsible for any delay in delivery, or failure of safe delivery of prizes.
It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner and their guests may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
