Denmark’s Crown Prince Couple, HRH Crown Prince Frederik and HRH Crown Princess Mary, are to visit Sydney as the Patrons of the Opera House’s 40th Anniversary program.
The Opera House’s 40th birthday celebrations will start on its official day, Sunday October 20, through to the following Monday, October 28.
On October 25, the Crown Prince Couple will officially open a
special exhibition focusing on the enduring legacy of Danish design entitled Danish Design at the House. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Jørn Utzon’s masterpiece, the Western Foyer of Sydney Opera House will be transformed into a number of installations inspired by the sparse, elegant modernism of Danish design. The exhibition will be curated by Terroir in collaboration with Karen Kjaergaard.
The exhibition will run from 25 October – 11 November. Entry is free.
