We love it when Hollywood puts a magnifying glass over itself and has a decent chuckle, and that’s why we love This Is The End. In this brilliant comedy from the frat-boy royalty behind Superbad and Pineapple Express, an army of A-list actors plays themselves, in all manner of panic as the end of the world looms.
The all-star cast includes James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson, each of them acting so over the top whilst still trying to be themselves for the sake of credibility, that it all starts to seem very surreal: a film about film stars literally losing the plot.
Also appearing in cameo roles are Emma Watson, Michael Cera (who truly gets his comeuppance after acting like a douche for the most part – but, alas, we still love the kid), Channing Tatum, Paul Rudd, Aziz Ansari, Mandy Kaling and even Rihanna.
