Facebook question

I am a novice with facebook and I do enter some facebook competitions but I read somewhere the following...... please note your profile must be set to public in order for us to view your entry.  I don't think mine is so am I wasting my time with facebook comps.  Appreciate any info thanks

You can change it in your privacy settings, mostly they mean public when sharing which you can do next time you share something look at the options at the bottom of the share and it should give option to change to public
