Synopsis: Through the eyes of his son, Tony, The Ghost Tattoo tells the story of Henry, a family doctor in Sydney who was also a Holocaust survivor. Recruited by his father into the Jewish Order Service, Henry witnessed atrocities and murders, inadvertently assisting the Nazis in their destruction of his own community. Unable to save his mother from deportation to the Treblinka death camp, he quit the police and ended up in concentration camps. While he survived the war, he continued to be plagued with shame and regret, blaming himself for not saving his mother’s life, unaware that his testimony was crucial in bringing about a rare conviction of a Nazi murderer.
