HERE are three exciting new Australian novels that would be a crime to miss.

The Unbelieved (Vikki Petraitis): Senior Detective Antigone Pollard has moved back to Deception Bay. A month in, she is targeted by a would-be rapist. Soon there are more cases. She investigates but no one is talking. The women of the town are scared and the law is not on their side.

Conviction (Frank Chalmers): Exiled to a remote town, Detective Ray Windsor uncovers a pattern of crimes no one seems to care about solving. But when two girls from immigrant families are found dead and another vanishes, Ray and his partner must take the law into their own hands.

Black River (Matthew Spencer): A young woman is found dead at an elite boarding school. Meanwhile, a serial killer is on the loose. Adam Bowman, who grew up as the son of a teacher at the college, might be the only person who can link the crimes.
All books RRP $32.99 and are courtesy courtesy of Allen & Unwin.
