Their first concert in Rome produced the biggest-selling classical album of all time. Their second concert in Los Angeles was immortalised as the most watched musical event in television history, as well as creating another hugely successful album. The world's most celebrated trio re-united for their third World Cup celebration concert, presented as a gift to the city of Paris. The concert, at Paris's Champ de Mars, was a spectacular evening of sight and sound. The view was extraordinary – maestros Carreras, Domingo, Pavarotti, conductor Levine and the Orchestre de Paris performed on a specially constructed, flower-bedecked stage, under a graceful arch of French art nouveau design, with the specially illuminated Eiffel Tower as the scenic backdrop.
