To celebrate the new NGV Triennial exhibition – and its late-night extension, Triennial Extra – we’re giving one lucky reader the chance to win a luxe staycation, with a trip to the NGV included. Here’s how you can win.
Hilton Melbourne Little Queen Street
NGV Triennial has opened in Melbourne, bringing with it nearly 100 artworks from over 120 artists and designers from around the world. It runs across all levels of the National Gallery of Victoria, with artworks ruminating on the likes of artificial intelligence, the climate crisis, race relations and war.
And its after-hours extension NGV Triennial Extra takes place over 10 nights in January, bringing free music, DJs, talks, performance, dance, art, design and more to the exhibition, with something new every night until 11pm.
It’s the kind of exhibition – and party – you need to see for yourself, and in partnership with the NGV, Broadsheet is offering you the chance to do just that.
One winner (and their very lucky friend) will win the ultimate Melbourne staycation. And if you’re not from Melbourne, we’ll throw in return flights from your nearest capital city, plus luxury Mercedes-Benz transfers to your hotel.
Check into the Hilton Melbourne Little Queen Street, located just a short walk or tram ride away from the NGV. Drop your bags in your King Superior Room and freshen up for a day (and night) of art and culture.
Even before stepping into the NGV, you’ll already be greeted by artwork in the foyer and the moat outside the gallery. And once you’re inside, there’s plenty of art to explore across all four levels. In addition to live music, drinks and after-hours exhibition access, there’s also Melbourne Tennis Ball Exchange, a participatory piece by artist David Shrigley that’s exactly what it sounds like.
For dinner, you’ll be treated to the NGV’s Garden Restaurant which means dinner accompanied by views of the tranquil garden and surrounding city skyscrapers. Dinner is to the value of $250, so you’ll leave suitably full and ready for a good night’s rest back at the hotel.
You’ll also take home an NGV design store prize pack, which includes the Triennial publication – so you can relive the exhibition at home. Bring it all back to the Hilton Melbourne LQS –your King Superior Room is the best spot to comfortably sleep away a culture-filled day.
Entries open at 11am on Thursday December 21 and close on January 11 at 11.59pm. The winner will be drawn at 11am on January 12.
