About the competition
Students in years 7–12: We want you to unleash your creativity and find a new way to tell us about tax and super, for your chance to win a share of $12,000 in prizes!
Teachers: Empower your students with our specially created Teacher’s information — your guide to supporting your students to triumph in the competition.
The prizes
A $12,000 total prize pool awarded to winners and their schools:
Junior category (years 7–9): The top 3 entries will win $1,000 each plus $1,000 for their school.
Senior category (years 10–12): The top 3 entries will win $1,000 each plus $1,000 for their school.
Entry topics
To enter, make a creative project that highlights the topic below.
Junior topic (years 7–9)
Explain how, when and why Australians pay tax.
For Seniors (years 10–12)
Explain Australia’s superannuation system and the impact on the community if we didn’t have one.
Competition date
The competition is now open! Entries must be submitted by 5.00pm AEST on Friday 27th September 2024.
Entry criteria
Entering the competition is free! For your chance to become Australia’s next tax and super creative genius, you must:
be a student in years 7–12 currently enrolled in the Australian education system – including Australian home school students
complete a separate entry form for each entry
submit your entry (no more than 3 entries per person/group) and complete a film or photo consent form for each person appearing in your entry.
Terms and conditions
You must ensure your entry complies with the terms and conditions. Please read through these before creating your masterpiece! They have a lot of important information, including:
entries must not include branding, images, logos or government crests which are the property of or represent the ATO
you must have permission or an appropriate licence to use music in your entry
video entries must be provided using a video hosting website such as YouTube.

Here’s some ideas to get your imagination flowing, the sky’s the limit, it’s your creation!
Write it:
Spin a tax or super yarn that twists and turns!
Write a tax or super poem that will show em!
Bring on the super theatrics and flip the script!
Make it:
Create an app or game to showcase your tech skills!
Sing a tax track with some bling or some zing!
Tax is not hard work with creative artwork!
Film it:
Make a video with tax or super the hero!
Film a skit and show your tax & super wit!

To enter online
Ensure your entry meets all requirements in the terms and conditions, then go to taxsuperandyou.gov.au/entryform
complete your entry form online, ensuring all fields are complete
if people appear in your entry, ensure you complete and attach a film or photo consent form for each person
attach all files before submitting your entry.
Postal entries
If you are unable to submit your entry using the online entry form, you can still enter the Tax, Super + You competition.
Ensure your entry meets all requirements in the terms and conditions, then:
download and complete the postal entry form
complete the film or photo consent form for each person appearing in your entry
copy any digital entry files to a USB flash drive.
