Did you know that it was World Snake Day on Tuesday?
Snakes come in all sorts of colours, sizes, and patterns, and some can even slither as fast as you run! Taronga Zoo has three Eyelash Vipers who are bright yellow, spotty red and brown. Snakes are great hunters and help control populations of rodents, insects and other small animals, stopping these populations from over- running the world.
Adult snakes don’t eat very often – from once a week to once every few months. Any fur or bones which can’t be broken down comes out in their poo and adds nutrients back into nature.
You can celebrate World Snake Day every day with a visit to ARC, Taronga Zoo’s exciting new Amphibian and Reptile experience. To celebrate, the Funday Telegraph has five family passes to give away, for two adults and two children to Taronga Zoo Sydney.
To enter, colour in the picture and then ask your parent or carer to take a photograph and then email it to
funday@sundaytelegraph.com.auPlease put Taronga Snake Day in the subject line and fill in the coupon so we can contact you if you are a winner.
