Terms and Conditions: Get a Quote to Enter 5 x $1,000 Gift Card Draw (28 October 2024 – 31 January 2025)
Information on how to enter and prizes forms part of these terms and conditions of entry. By entering the "Enter the draw to win a $1,000 Gift Card" competition (competition), you acknowledge that you have read these terms and conditions and that you agree to be bound by them.
The promoter is Australian Unity Health Limited ABN 13 078 722 568, 271 Spring Street, Melbourne, VIC, 3000 (Promoter)
The competition runs from 12.01am (AEDT) 28 October 2024 to 11:59pm (AEDT) 31 January 2025. The Promoter reserves the right to extend the competition end date at any time. No late entries will be accepted. Incomplete or incoherent entries will be invalid.
The prize consists of 5 x $1,000 Mastercard Gift Card.
To be eligible to enter the competition you must:
be 18 years or older;
reside in any Australian State or Territory, except the ACT.
To be entered into the random prize draw the entrant must complete an Australian Unity health insurance quote (for hospital cover, or extras cover, or a combination hospital and extras cover) via the Australian Unity call centre, the Australian Unity website, or Australian Unity Partnerships (phone and online portals) including their email address and phone number.
A limit of one entry to the competition per person applies to those who obtain quote only. If an entrant proceeds to purchase and commence an Australian Unity health insurance product prior to 11:59pm (AEDT) 31 January 2025 they will have an additional 9 entries into the competition. There is no fee to enter.
For the avoidance of doubt, this promotion is not available:
through brokers, intermediaries or comparators;
to employees, directors or officers of the Promoter, and any of its related bodies corporate, and any companies or agencies associated with this competition, or their immediate families;
on OVC products; or
to members who hold Australian Unity private health insurance with a policy commencement prior to 28 October 2024.
The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and proof of residency) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of these rights.
The winners will be chosen at random by manual draw. A limit of one prize per entrant applies. The first 5 valid entries drawn will win the prize described above. The random prize draw will be held on 10th February 2025 at 11:30am (AEDT) at 271 Spring Street, Melbourne, VIC, 3000 and the winners notified by phone and/or email by 13th February 2025. The winners will be published on the Australian Unity website at australianunity.com.au/competitionwinners by 17th February 2025.
If a prize is not claimed by 21st February 2025 a second chance random draw will take place on this date and the prize-winner/s will be notified by phone and/or email by 25th February 2025, and the new winner will be published on the Australian Unity website at australianunity.com.au/competitionwinners on 27th February 2025.
The prize is not transferable or refundable. No part of the prize is exchangeable or redeemable for cash or any other prize. If any aspect of a prize cannot be delivered for any reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for any other similar item (or items) of equal or greater value subject to State laws.
The results of the draw and Promoter’s decisions in relation to all aspects of this promotion are final and binding on all entrants.
Subject to regulatory approval, the Promoter reserves the right to amend the competition and its terms and conditions at any time and for any reason, and will notify entrants of any such amendments as soon as reasonably practicable on the competition page at australianunity.com.au/tcs. It is the entrant's responsibility to regularly check the competition page for any amendments.
Nothing in these terms and conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the Promoter's liability in relation to the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (Non-Excludable Guarantees). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury, or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the competition including:
any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control);
any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter;
any variation in prize value to that stated in these terms and conditions;
any tax liability incurred by the winner or entrant; or
use of the prize.
To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) which is suffered or sustained by any entrant/winner as a result of participating in this promotion, or accepting any prize.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from winning the prize. Independent financial advice should be sought.
All entries will be the property of the Promoter. The information entrants provide will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of conducting this competition. The Promoter may disclose entrants’ personal information to its contractors and agents to assist in conducting this Promotion or communicating with entrants. The Promoter is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. The Promoter’s privacy policy is available on the Promoter’s website at australianunity.com.au/privacy-policy. Entrants can request access to the personal information the Promoter holds about them by contacting the Promoter at the address set out above.
The winner of the promotion consents to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media, marketing or advertising activities for an unlimited period without remuneration.
If for any reason whatsoever beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, this promotion is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, unless to do so would be prohibited by law, to
disqualify any entrant; and/or
subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to cancel, suspend, modify, terminate or cancel the promotion.
The laws of Victoria apply to this promotion. Entrants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
