BLAX: ACT ONE promises to transform Club 8 into a multisensory journey through realms of sound, movement and visuals – honouring ancestral legacies while boldly reclaiming possibilities for tomorrow.
The lineup showcases an impressive collection of talent from Australia and Aotearoa (New Zealand). Headlining the event is electronic music producer nudibranchia, who will be joined by renowned selector Soju Gang on DJ duties, ensuring the dancefloor stays energised throughout the night. Representing Aotearoa, the Katayanagi Twins will bring their distinctive sound to Melbourne audiences, while local artist CONJAH rounds out the musical offerings with their powerful performances.
The immersive aspects of BLAX extend beyond just music. Kooljak + Friends will provide movement elements that enhance the multidimensional experience, while Sapphic Flicks has collaborated with YIRRAMBOI to create visuals that complement the night’s themes of cultural celebration and futurism.
BLAX: ACT ONE welcomes all attendees (18+ only) to participate in this cultural celebration, though its core mission remains centred on amplifying First Nations voices and visions. The event demonstrates how traditional knowledge can inform and transform contemporary spaces, creating something both timeless and revolutionary.
