Competition Dates

Opens Saturday 10th May and closes Friday 16th May

This week's Win on the Coast is a double pass to see The Devonport Choral Societies newest stage production - Calendar Girls.

Calendar Girls – The musical is an uplifting and heartfelt production based on the true story of a group of Yorkshire Women’s Institute members who defy tradition by creating a nude calendar to raise money for charity. Sparked by the loss of a beloved husband, these women take on an unexpected journey of self-discovery and courage.

Written by Gary Barlow and Tim Firth, the musical beautifully captures themes of friendships, resilience, and the strength found in community.

Directed by Emil Djakic, with musical direction by Del Polden and Carolyn Harris, and choreography by Dana Sallese, the Devonport Choral Society is thrilled to bring the Tasmanian premiere of this powerful production to life. Featuring unforgettable songs and moments that will bring both laughter and tears, Calendar Girls showcases the warmth, humour, and the solidarity of ordinary women doing something extraordinary.

With a touching story and vibrant music, this show celebrates the courage to challenge convention and embrace vulnerability. It’s message of unity and empowerment will resonate with audiences, reminding us the each of us has the power to make a difference – and that, indeed, there is no such thing as an ordinary woman.
