By entering this competition you are taken to have read, understood, and agreed to the following terms and conditions (‘the Terms’):
1. The Competition
1.1. The ‘Promoter’ of ‘Celebrate SPARK Ipswich’ the ‘Competition’) is Ipswich City Council (‘the Promoter’) of 1 Nicholas Street, Ipswich, Queensland 4305
2. General
2.1. Entry into the Competition is deemed to be acceptance of these Terms.
2.2. If there is any inconsistency between these Terms and anything else that refers to this competition, these Terms will prevail.
2.3. By entering the Competition, entrants agree to follow any conditions of entry set by Council. Each entrant is responsible for ensuring that they are aware of and comply with all conditions of entry related to the Competition.
2.4. Council reserves the right to vary these Terms, or suspend, terminate, or cancel the Competition at any time and in its sole and absolute discretion.
2.5. Following any variation of these Terms, the Council may re-upload the updated Terms to its website. All entrants are required to check the website regularly and accordingly, once updated Terms are uploaded to Council’s website, all entrants are required to comply with the altered Terms.
2.6. All decisions made by Council throughout the Competition are final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
2.7. To be eligible, all Entrants must fulfill the requirements set out below.
2.8. Entry into the competition is free.
3. Competition Date
3.1. The Competition will be open from ‘10.00 am on Thursday 12 June 2025 and closes at 10.00 am on Thursday 3 July 2025’ (‘Competition Period’).
4. Definitions
The following Terms will have the corresponding meaning;
Adjudicator means the person responsible for overseeing the random draw of the winner of this competition and will be a representative from Council.
Chief Executive Officer means the Chief Executive Officer of Council or a person acting in that position.
Competition means the ‘Celebrate SPARK Ipswich’. Competition being open at ‘10.00 am on Thursday 12 June 2025 and closes
at 10.00 am on Thursday 3 July 2025’.
Council means Ipswich City Council.
Entrant means a person who submits a valid entry to the Competition.
Prize means the awarded goods or vouchers issued for the competition. The Nature of the prize is entirely up to the Adjudicator’s discretion.
Promotor means the entity (Council) who will lead the promotion of the competition.
You/Your means the person registering and/or on behalf of other adult/s participating in the competition.
5.
Eligibility Criteria/Rules
5.1. Entry to the Competition is open to people over the age of 18 years old.
5.2. An entrant to the Competition must be an individual and not a company or organisation.
5.3. Employees of the Promoter or any person associated with the Competition, or any organisation or individual associated with the provision of the prize(s) are not eligible to enter.
5.4. Entry to the competition is by subscribing to the Ipswich Festivals electronic newsletter by email.
5.5. In addition to the requirements set out in 5.1-5.4, to enter the competition and be eligible to win the prize the entrant must;
a. To be eligible entrants must complete all required fields.
5.6. Entry into the competition will be open from ‘10.00 am on Thursday 12 June 2025 and closes at 10.00 am on Thursday 3 July 2025.’
5.7. Any entry received after the closure of the Competition Period will be deemed invalid and will not be considered. No responsibility is accepted by the Promoter for late, lost, delayed, or misdirected entries.
5.8. Each entry must be made in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. By entering the Competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. The Promoter may at their discretion refuse to award
any prize to any entrant who fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
5.9. Entries not made in accordance with these entry Terms and Conditions will be invalid and will not be considered. Any Information on how to enter the Competition forms part of these Terms and Conditions.
5.10. Each individual entrant may only submit one (1) Competition entry by subscribing to the Ipswich Festivals e-newsletter. All entries must be made online, on the Ipswich Festivals website.
5.11. By subscribing during the competition period, entrants agree to indemnify and release the Promoter in respect of any judgement, action, or liability for all loss, damage, injury (to persons or property), and costs (including legal costs) arising out of or in connection with the entrant’s participation in the Competition and/or breach of these Terms and Conditions.
5.12. Entrants must not engage in any unlawful conduct, or any misconduct which is calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct, and the integrity of the Competition.
Media Consent and Privacy
6.1. You give consent to Council to make /or retain an image or images of You or an individual for whom You have authorised decision making responsibility and You authorise Council’s use or reproduction of such images for the purposes of publishing materials related to the activities, programs and services of the Council without the acknowledgement and without being entitled to renumeration or compensation.
6.2. Information, including images, regarding winning entries can be published through Council digital and hardcopy promotion channels.
6.3. Ipswich City Council (Council) is collecting your personal information for the purposes of conducting the Competition. Council will not disclose your personal information outside of Council unless we are required to do so by law, or you have given your consent. However, to enable the Promoter to administer, judge and promote the Competition your personal information may be recorded and/or disclosed; for instance, your name may be disclosed in a publication or at an event for the purpose of giving notice of Competition winners/entrants. By completing an entry form we will consider that you have given the Promoter your consent to manage your personal information in the manner described in Council’s Privacy Statement, Personal Information Digest, and this Collection Notice: Ipswich.qld.gov.au/about_council/corporate_publications/personal_information_digest
Winner Selection
7.1 Only one winner for the prize will be chosen. The winner will be chosen by way of a random draw at 10.30 am on Thursday 3 July 2025 overseen by an Adjudicator. The result of the random draw is final and no correspondence and/or communication of any kind in relation to the result will be entered into. The Promoter is under no obligation to award any prize for the competition.
7.2 Any prize awarded for winning the Competition is at the Promoter’s discretion, and is non-negotiable, and may not be exchanged for cash or any other prizes.
7.3. The winner of the prize will receive:
• Two tickets to see GROOVE TERMINATOR SUPPORTED BY DISCOVERY – DAFT PUNK TRIBUTE SHOW on Friday 11 July 8.00 pm at Ipswich Civic Centre. 18+ Event only.
• $150 gift voucher to Stony Creek Brewing
• Total prize is to the maximum value of $220.00. Prize is not transferable.
• Ipswich Civic Centre tickets to be used on show dates as stated. Stony Creek brewing voucher has 12 months expiry.
7.4. The Winner will be notified via email.
7.5. If the Winner is unable to collect the prize two weeks after being contacted by email without prior arrangement with Council, they will forfeit the Prize in its entirety.
7.
8. Jurisdiction
8.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed, constructed, and interpreted in accordance with the laws in force in the State of Queensland.
