Limelight's 25 in 25: Australia’s favourite art music in 2025

Limelight, in collaboration with Cameron Lam, curator of the monthly Australian Art Music playlist, invites readers to explore the music of Australian composers and vote for their top five tracks.

The votes will decide the 25 tracks in Limelight’s 25 in 25 playlist, to be revealed on Friday, 14 November, during Australian Music Month.

As a thank you for voting, 10 participants will each win a $20 Bandcamp gift card from Limelight, to support the music they love.

To help with your selection, the newly launched Guide to Australian Composers brings together one track from each composer, improviser or sound artist featured on Lam’s Australian Art Music playlist.

From Katy Abbott to Jonathan Zwartz, the A-Z guide offers a wide-ranging snapshot of Australian art music, from classical and jazz to sound art, improvisation and experimental works. Composers were invited, wherever possible, to put forward a piece previously featured in the playlist.
