We’re so grateful for water in our region. Water helps bring to life so many important things in our lives.

For Jenny Jenner, founder of the Kalbar Sunflower Festival, water helps grow beautiful sunflowers and is a vital source that keeps her local business thriving in the Scenic Rim.
We’re excited to be supporting the festival again this year, a celebration of all the local legends that make this region renowned for veggies, camel milk, wine, and of course, sunflowers.

Terms and Conditions:

This year Urban Utilities is running a campaign that focuses on the value of water and sustainability within our Scenic Rim communities to support Kalbar Sunflower Festival and Eat Local Month.  
We are using two Kalbar Sunflower Festival family passes as a giveaway to drive people to our social media channels and use it as a platform to gather more information about how our community values water in their lives.    
The Competition commences at 5 PM (AEST) on Tuesday 14 April 2026 and closes at 5 PM AEST on Monday 27 April 2026.  
Eligible Entries will be identified on Monday 27 April 2026 with the winners selected by random draw at the Queensland Urban Utilities head office at Level 10, 31 Duncan Street, Fortitude Valley, Queensland, 4006. The winners will be contacted within 1 day of the Competition ending by Facebook or Instagram message, based on which social media platform the entry was submitted.
Eligible Entrants may submit multiple entries, provided the conditions of entry are satisfied each time a story is submitted. If multiple entries are made, a different story and person must be submitted for each entry.
General
1. The Brought to Life by Water Competition (the Competition) is being conducted by Central SEQ Distributor-Retailer Authority Trading as Queensland Urban Utilities ABN 86 673 835 011 (Queensland Urban Utilities) Level 10, 31 Duncan Street, Fortitude Valley, Queensland, 4006.
2. The Competition and these Terms and Conditions (the Terms) will be governed by the laws Queensland.
3. The Competition commences at 5 PM (AEST) on Tuesday 14 April 2026 and closes at 5 PM (AEST) on Monday 27 April 2026 (the Competition Period).  
Entry
4. Entry to the Competition is free. Entrants will be responsible for all costs associated with entering the Competition.
5. Entry into the Competition is taken to be acceptance of these Terms.
6. Entry to the Competition is open to eligible customers residing in Brisbane, Ipswich, Scenic Rim, Somerset & Lockyer Valley.
Who may enter
7. Queensland Urban Utilities employees and their immediate family are ineligible to enter the Competition.
8. To be eligible to enter the Competition, the entrant must share what wouldn't be possible without water in their world in our comments section for their chance to win. by leaving a comment on our competition social media posts on either:

9. The entrant must be:
a. over the age of 18 years; or
b. if under the age of 18 years have parent or guardian consent to enter the Competition;
(Eligible Entrant).
An eligible customer residing in Brisbane, Ipswich, Scenic Rim, Somerset & Lockyer Valley.
How to enter
1. To enter the Competition the Eligible Entrant must share what wouldn't be possible without water in their world by leaving a comment on our competition social media posts on either our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/QueenslandUrbanUtilities/ and Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/urbanutilities/ (Eligible Entry).
2. Only entries submitted via our Facebook page and Instgram page will be considered: https://www.facebook.com/QueenslandUrbanUtilities/ and Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/urbanutilities/ and which are appropriately comments on posts related to the competition will be accepted.
3. Eligible Entrants may submit multiple entries, provided the conditions of entry are satisfied each time a comment is published. If multiple entries are made a different reason must be submitted for each entry.
4. Queensland Urban Utilities reserves the right to invalidate any Eligible Entrant submitting an entry which contains objectionable content including but not limited to content that is illegal, fraudulent, racist, discriminatory, misleading or deceptive, defamatory, obscene or offensive, inappropriate for people under the age of 18, off-topic, or negatively impact on the Queensland Urban Utilities brand.
Prize Draw
5. All Eligible Entrants with an Eligible Entry who comply with these Terms will be eligible to win the Prize.
6. There will be two overall Prize winners for entering this Competition. The Eligible Entrant must share what wouldn't be possible without water in their world by leaving a comment on our competition social media posts on either our
Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/QueenslandUrbanUtilities/
Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/urbanutilities/
7. The Prize will be two family passes to the Kalbar Sunflower Festival, granting event access on any day of the festival held from Friday 1 May – Sunday 3 May for four people (of any age) to the value of $140 per pass (the Prize).
8. The Prize is not transferrable, refundable or redeemable for cash.
9. Eligible Entries will be identified on Monday 27 April 2026 with the winners selected by random draw at the Queensland Urban Utilities head office at Level 10, 31 Duncan Street, Fortitude Valley, Queensland, 4006.
10. Queensland Urban Utilities’ decision on all matters in relation to the Competition is final and binding.
11. The winners will be contacted within 1 day of the Competition ending by Facebook or Instagram message, based on which social media platform the entry was submitted.
12. If the Prize winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the Prize 48 hours after the notification, Queensland Urban Utilities reserves the right to withdraw the Prize from the winner and select a replacement winner.
13. Entry into the Competition is taken to be consent from the Eligible Entrant to receive communications from Queensland Urban Utilities.
14. Queensland Urban Utilities will make available the name of the Competition winners on its website and social media accounts.
Intellectual Property
15. The Eligible Entrant warrants that they own all intellectual property rights in the comment that is published to Facebook or Instagram.
16. The Eligible Entrant agrees that Queensland Urban Utilities may use and/or publish any material submitted as part of their entry for Queensland Urban Utilities’ business purposes, and agrees to the material being shared on Queensland Urban Utilities’ website and social media accounts.  
17. All Eligible Entries to the Competition become and remain the property (including intellectual property) of Queensland Urban Utilities.
No liability
18. Queensland Urban Utilities accepts no responsibility for entries not received by the closing date for any reason whatsoever.
19. The Prize winner will be responsible for all costs associating with collecting and using their Prize.  
20. The Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and entrants in the Competition release Meta (Facebook and Instagram) from all liability arising from the Competition.  
21. Queensland Urban Utilities will deal with any personal information received from the entrant for the purposes of entering the Competition in accordance with Queensland Urban Utilities’ Information Privacy Policy and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld).  
22. Queensland Urban Utilities reserves the right to cancel the Competition if circumstances arise outside its control.
23. Queensland Urban Utilities has the right at any time to change or modify these Terms.
