Fishvictoria.com is running a competition where you can win a share in $3000 of prizes including $1,500 cash and great tackle prizes just by coming up with a 15-second television commercial to promote the website.

Winners may even get to see their commercial running on Channel 31 and elsewhere!

See the full details here:
http://www.fishvictoria.com/member-foru ... izes/42315

You need to be a fishvic forum member to enter but remember, our forum registration is free and there is no cost to enter the Fishvic TV Commercial competition!

Cheers and good luck.

YOU CAN WIN
$1,500 in cash,
$1,500 in tackle and
15 seconds of fame!

ENTER THE FISHVIC TV COMMERCIAL COMPETITION!

Fishvic is looking for creative ways to promote its website via advertising slots on Channel 31.

There are great monthly and grand prizes totalling $3,000 including $1,500 cash and lots of tackle. Plus finalists may get the chance to see their work in full digital glory on Melbourne's Channel 31!

How do I enter?
Step 1: Make sure you are a fishvic forum member!
Step 2: Come up with an idea for your 15-second commercial.
Step 3: Con some mates into giving you a hand.
Step 4: Create a 15-second high definition video file of your idea.
Step 5: Burn it to a CD or DVD
Step 6: Make sure you include all the right paperwork (see below).
Step 7: Send it in to fishvic!

You write it. You cast it. You direct it. You create it. You have total creative control.

What happens then?
Fishvic will review the entries and all of those that abide by the competition rules and conditions will be posted to a video hoster such as YouTube or Vimeo and embedded into the fishvic forums for judging and forum member voting (via online poll). The best entries may air on Channel 31 in a fishvictoria.com advertising timeslot. There will be monthly finalists for the months of September, October and November 2010 (unless no eligible entries are received).

How is it judged?
Scores will be decided based on a combination of forum member voting and the scores provided by official judges. These judges will include a representative from Channel 31 and a representative from fishvic.

Judges will award a maximum of 10 points for each of the following criteria (total maximum judges' score of 50)...

• 1: Originality
• 2: Overall appeal and effectiveness
• 3: Compliance with the rules and conditions of the competition
• 4: Technical quality
• 5: Likelyhood that the entry could be broadcast on C31

Forum member voting will be via official poll. Each entry's forum member vote will be determined as a percentage of total votes for all entries for the period (e.g. for the month). That number will be divided by 2 to give a total score out of 50. This will be added to the judges total score out of 50 for a grand total score out of 100.

For example, entry "A" receives judges scores of:
• 1: Originality - 7.5
• 2: Overall appeal and effectiveness - 6.5
• 3: Compliance with the rules and conditions of the competition - 9
• 4: Technical quality - 6
• 5: Likelyhood that the entry could be broadcast on C31 - 8.5
Total judges score 37.5/50.

Entry "A" receives 95 online poll votes from total poll votes of 350 for all entries in that period; that is 27 per cent of total votes, divided by 2 gives an "audience" score of 13.5 (all voting will be rounded to the nearest 0.1).

With the judges score of 37.5, plus the poll score of 13.5, the entry receives a total score of 51.

In the event of a draw, competition judges will make the final decision.

What are the prizes?
There will be monthly prizes for the best entry of the month for September, October and November 2010. The prizes for each month will be $500 of tackle including prize packs from Damiki, P-Line and fishvictoria.com. Monthly prizes will be awarded within the first 2 weeks of the following month. Monthly and grand prize winners may also, at fishvic's and Channel 31's discretion, have their entries screened on Channel 31.

All eligible entries will be in the running for the major prize of $1,000 and runner-up prize of $500. All eligible submitted entries will be voted on again for the major prizes with online poll votes added to judges' original scores. Voting for this will take place over December 2010 and January 2011. The two major prizes will be awarded in February 2011.

Who can enter?
You must be a fishvic forum member to enter and you must be a legal resident of Australia. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must also sign the entry form. Entries must be made in the name of one person, i.e. you cannot submit an entry from 2 people. If this is a joint effort then you will need to decide whose name appears on the entry. If any prizes are won, they will be sent to that person. Paid employees of fishvictoria.com, Parkhouse Pty Ltd and Channel 31, and their immediate families, are ineligibile to enter.

What info must I supply when I enter?
Along with your entry, you must provide:
• a completed entry form (Fishvic_TV_Entry_Form.pdf)
 Fishvic_TV_Entry_Form.pdf [124.31 KiB]
Downloaded 12 times

• completed photo/video consent forms for each person appearing in the entry (Fishvic_TV_Consent_Form.pdf).
 Fishvic_TV_Consent_Form.pdf [102.76 KiB]
Downloaded 10 times

The consent forms are proof that the people appearing in your entry do so knowingly and willingly and fully understand the consequences of doing so.

What format can entries be in?
All entries must be high definition (1080 pixels minimum) in widescreen 16:9 format. Entries do not have to have been made with a video camera but they must be provided as a QuickTime compatible video file, e.g. .mpg, .avi, .wmv. Entries can be made via video footage, stills, animation or a combination of methods, as long as the final entry is provided as a video file as described.

Do I need to have a video camera?
Not necessarily. The fishvic ad here: http://www.fishvictoria.com/member-foru ... hing/42147 was created entirely onscreen without the use of a video camera or any video footage. It was made with still photos, an animated background and a voice over.

What can the content be?
It can be serious or funny or whatever you like within the following guidelines:
• entries must be suitable for viewing by all age groups and must be in the spirit of fishvictoria.com
• entries must not blatantly use any third party branding (e.g. don't hold up a can of coke!). Incidental glimpses of branding may be allowed (e.g. a reel brand or lure brand) at fishvic's discretion. Use of competition sponsors' products is allowed.
• entries must not contain any material that is offensive or illegal in any way
Regardless of method, entries must be effective in promoting fishvictoria.com.

Can I use fishvic logos, etc?
Yes you can use fishvic logos in entries for this competition. Fishvic logos are protected by copyright and must not be used for any unauthorised purpose. The following files are made available as .eps vector files, created in Adobe Illustrator CS3:

How many times can I enter?
You can enter as many times as you like. You cannot submit multiple versions of the same entry. Each entry must be unique. At fishvic's discretion, you may be allowed to resubmit an entry if you decide you can substantially improve it.

How long can the video be?
Entries must be EXACTLY 15 seconds.

Can I use music?
You can only include material (including any audio and any visual material) that you have a legal right to use and you must be legally able to transfer those rights (via completion of the entry forms) to fishvictoria.com. In most cases this means you cannot use music unless you have created it yourself and it is, legally, an original work.

When is the deadline?
You can enter at any time however the closing dates for the 3 months are:
- 30 September 2010
- 31 October 2010
- 30 November 2010

Remember, many entrants may wait until the last month, so get your entries in earlier for a better chance at a monthly prize!

Will I get my entry back?
No, fishvictoria.com will hold on to the original entries that are provided via CD or DVD. Entrants should ensure they keep a backup copy for their own purposes and for resupply to fishvictoria.com in the event that something happens to the original entry.

How will I get my prize/s if I win?
Monthly prizes will be mailed to the winners. The grand prize of $1,000 will be paid by electronic funds transfer to your bank account, or by company cheque.

What else do I need to know?
Here's some legal mumbo jumbo that it is important to know.
