Shine Seeker Competition
Tourism Queensland - in partnership with Blue Holidays, the holiday program of Virgin Blue - brings you the Shine Seeker competition. Here's the story in a nutshell...
•The competition runs from 30 September - December 31, 2010
•The first step to get started is to visit Queensland’s foursquare page and "follow" us.
•On our foursquare page, we've listed 100 places to visit around Queensland. Visit five of these locations and check-in while you're there, and you'll unlock our exclusive, limited edition "Shine Seeker" badge.
•Everyone who is following us on foursquare, and who has unlocked the Shine Seeker badge by December 31 2010 goes into the draw to win 1 of 2 Blue Holidays Queensland getaways, as detailed below.
Prize Information: Prize 1 - Return airfares to Cairns from the winners' nearest Virgin Blue port, for two people flying Virgin Blue and 2 nights accommodation at Rydges Esplanade Resort Cairns.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. You will be entered into the Queensland on Foursquare promotion by unlocking
Tourism Queensland’s “shine seeker” badge on Foursquare by checking-in via
Foursquare to 5 of the defined Queensland “locations” listed on the site,
www.foursquare.com/queensland.

This promotion commences on 30th September and ends on 31st December 2010.
The promotion is only valid for Foursquare subscribers who are friends with
Queensland on Foursquare and are over the age of 18 years.
3. In order to become eligible to win a major prize, participants must make the
required Foursquare Check-ins to the defined “locations” during the promotional
dates and unlock the Tourism Queensland’s “shine seeker” Foursquare badge by
31st December 2010.4. Foursquare will provide all eligible participants’ details to Tourism Queensland for
entry into the draw. Foursquare user identification numbers only will be provided.
These details will remain confidential and contact with participants will not occur
following the promotion.
5. All eligible participants will be entered into a random draw to win 1 of 2 major
prizes:
• 1 x Return airfare for two people to Cairns from the winners nearest Virgin
Blue port, and 2 nights accommodation at Rydges Esplanade Resort Cairns.
Valued at up to $3,756.00
• 1 x Return airfare for two people to Cairns from the winners nearest Virgin
Blue port, and 2 nights accommodation at Rydges Tradewinds Cairns.
Valued at up to $3,756.00
• Total prize value of up to $7,512.00
6. The winners will be selected by random manual draw. The drawing of the prize
will be conducted at Tourism Queensland, Level 10, 30 Makerston Street, Brisbane
on Thursday January 20th 2011, at 10.00am (Queensland, Australia time). The
prize winners will be notified via email by a Foursquare employee. The winner will
be emailed instructions on how to claim the prize and the winners will need to
follow these instructions to claim a prize through Tourism Queensland. The first
name and last name initial of the prize winners will be published on the website,
www.queenslandholidays.com.au following the draw and claiming of the prizes.
7. The prizes are valid for travel for 6 months from date of issue, excluding school
holidays, public holidays or peak season. Prize must be fully utilised in one
booking. In the event your prize is not utilised within the validity period, no cash,
credit or extension will be provided. To book a prize, winners will be provided with
a prize letter detailing instructions. Winners must be 18 years old and above to
redeem a prize. Flights are valid only from Virgin Blue ports within Australia. The
flights are non-redeemable for cash. Taxes, fees and surcharges are the
responsibility of the prize winner and will need to be paid at time of booking
with a credit card. Travel is on confirmed space but is still subject to seat
availability at the time of booking. Changes to flight details once booked will
incur a $40 change fee per guest per change. Virgin Blue's normal terms and
conditions of carriage apply.
8. The prizes are not transferable or exchangeable or redeemable for cash and are
not valid with any other offer. Unless expressly stated in these terms and
conditions all other expenses become the responsibility of the winners (and their
travel companions) including but not limited to spending money, transfers, meals
(other than those specified), drinks (other than those specified), incidentals, minibar,
laundry, room service, telephone calls, activities, taxes (including departure
taxes), energy surcharges, gratuities, services charges, passports, travel
insurance, pre and post accommodation, optional activities or excursions and all
other ancillary costs.
9. The winners (and their travelling companions) are also responsible for having a
current passport or obtaining a current passport before travelling and any other
documentation or immunisations that may be required in order to take the
voucher. The winners (and their travelling companions) are also responsible for
obtaining any visas that may be required and for ensuring that they have travel
insurance. A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the winner
at check-in to the hotel, for all incidental charges.
10. If a prize is not claimed within three months of the draw, an unclaimed prize draw
will be conducted immediately.
11. The Promoters accept no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize
or any variation in the prize advertised and the prize provided. The Promoters
accept no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the prize
winning. Independent financial advice should be sought. The Promoters are not
responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the
entrant or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in
this incentive scheme competition), or for any technical error, or any combination
thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition
including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or
transmission, communications, internet access, network failure, theft or
destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
12. Each participant releases and indemnifies the Promoters against all liability, cost,
loss or expense arising out of acceptance of any prize or participation in the
promotion including (but not limited to) personal injury and damage to property
and whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or
omission or otherwise.
13. Employees and Directors of the Promoters, or agencies associated with the
promotion, and their immediate families, are ineligible to enter the promotion.
