TERMS & CONDITIONS: Win a suitcase of $10,000 cash
1. Information on how to enter and the prize form part of these Conditions of Entry.
2. The Promoter is Allen & Unwin Pty Ltd (A.B.N 79 003 994 278) of 83 Alexander Street, Crows Nest, NSW 2065.
3. A purchase of The Reversal by Michael Connelly during the competition period entitles a person to enter the 'Michael Connelly - Win a Suitcase of $10,000 cash' competition. Entry is open to Australian and New Zealand residents only. Employees of Allen & Unwin Pty Ltd, anyone else connected to Allen & Unwin, and their immediate families are ineligible to enter. 4. To enter, a person must complete the 'Michael Connelly - Win a Suitcase of $10,000 cash' online entry form in full on the Allen and Unwin website

5. The entry submitted will be taken as the Entrant's acceptance of assigning all rights and interests including but not limited to copyright and all other intellectual property rights of the Entrant's to Allen & Unwin. Allen & Unwin reserves the right to edit or alter the Entrant's submission.
6. The prize is a total of $10,000 (Australian Dollars) cash. Prizes will be awarded by a direct money transfer into the winners nominated bank account.
7. Prize must be taken by 30 June 2011. Redemption of the prize is subject to any and all conditions specified by Allen & Unwin at the time of awarding the prize.
8. The prize will be awarded to the entrant who, in the opinion of the judges, best answers the question in 25 words or less 'Tell us what you would do if you found a suitcase of 10,000 cash?'
9. Competition commences 00:01 (AEST) on 05/10/2010. Entries close 5.00pm (AEST) on 04/01/2011 (the Competition period). Any entry received after that date will be ineligible. Entry by any person will be taken as acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. There will be one prize awarded which will be conducted at 10.00am (AEST) on 04/02/2011 at the Promoter's office. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
10. The winning entry will be notified in writing and by phone and be announced online on

11. The winner must produce their original proof of purchase (receipt itemising the book The Reversal by Michael Connelly) to be eligible to claim the prize. If the winner fails to produce their original proof of purchase itemising The Reversal they forfeit the prize.
12. If the winner of a prize is under the age of 18 years, the prize will be awarded to the winner's nominated parent or guardian.
13. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or (f) use of the prize.
14. Allen & Unwin will not accept responsibility for late entries, ailed, partial or garbled computer transmissions, or for technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to electronic malfunction or damage of any network, hardware or software. Entries that are forged, incomplete, illegible or do not comply with the terms and conditions will be deemed invalid. If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, Allen & Unwin reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Competition. No responsibility is assumed for: any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries; or any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or electronic entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to Entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials from this Competition. In the event of a dispute over an electronic entry, prize will be awarded to the name on the Entry Form and Release, not the owner of the e-mail account.
15. Allen & Unwin may conduct such further judging at the same time and place as the original judging as are necessary on 14 February 2011 if the prize is unclaimed by that date, or if the original winner is deemed ineligible. The winner will be notified by phone or mail.
16. The Promoter collects entrant's personal information in order to conduct the promotion. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the promotion.
